"Nate's a really good player, but his grades have to go up otherwise we have to kick him out of the team" I heard coach say the words "kick" and "out" . I knew what time it was as soon as my dad stepped out of that door. My grades were flying though the roof, but not on your typical good way. "You can't throw Nate out of the team, he's the best player there. Without him you won't win the finals at the end of the semester." I heard dad trying to stay calm, but deep down he was furious. He was raging with anger, not because of the threat of throwing me out of the team, but because with everything going on at home he couldn't handle this too. It felt like he was leaning on my future, like he was pushing me to do certain things so that he can live off of my fortunes. Ever since mom got sick, he started losing money. Not because of the medical bills, but because he only spend it on useless things like alcohol and the casino. He is so bad at gambling, that he kept spending money, because he didn't want to lose. Now that my grades are bad, he forces me to be good at something, whether it's a sport or it's str!pping. Either way i have to earn money for him. I don't want to live with that asshole anymore. I want to build on my own future, but for now im stuck at this stupid college and with this stupid man, who can't even take care of him self, let alone a whole family. "I want to end the conversation now mr. brandy." "Well i'm not do-" He got taken away by security, like usual. It wasn't anything new, he got taken away all the time at the casino. We headed home in the back of a police car, because dad couldn't even leave the security guards alone and had to hit them. We got dropped off and i stormed to my room. He called me down, but i didn't listen. I plugged my airpods in and listened to my frustrated playlist. The first song on the playlist always calms me down. "Halley's Comet - Billie Eillish" After listening to some music, I walked over to my desk and started doing homework. Normally I wouldn't, but this time i overheard the conversation and it didn't sound good. I had to get my grades up no matter what it takes..
