"Shannon! Which box is yours? I told you to put your name on it girl!" Karen yelled from the truck.

"Sorry Mommaa, I forgot to put my name on a few," Shannon eyes a few of the boxes in the truck "These two," she smiles at her mother as she grabs the boxes.

"Gone head and take them upstairs," Karen chuckled directing Shannon in the house.

Karen's husband, Drew, jogged down the stairs with his suitcase. "Baby I'm gonna head to work now," Drew says as he kisses Karen on her cheek.

"Be safe and let me know when you get there," Karen smiled as she walked into the house. She sat a few boxes down on the kitchen counter as Shannon went upstairs with her boxes.

Karen and her family were moving into a new house in South Central LA, her husband, Drew, had a new job opportunity at a Mega Church called West Angeles. It was gonna be a huge change due to them moving from Detroit to LA.

Karen was mostly excited about meeting new people and having a fresh start, she loved her hometown but it was time to experience new things outside of Detroit.

"Momma you still want this dress?" Shannon came down the stairs showing Karen a black & silver dress.

"Now Shannon you know thats my good dress!" Karen chuckled heading back outside.

Shannon followed behind her, "Momma I got a few heads today at the shop, I love youu," Shannon planted a kiss on Karen's cheek.

"Alright be safe now Shannon, I love you too" she smiled closing the back of the truck.

As Shannon left, Karen noticed a shadow come over her as she bended down to get one last box to take into their new home.

"Hey excuse me.. not to be rude but I noticed that your lawn hasn't been mowed. Gone take the city a few weeks to come out here and do that," The tall curly haired boy chuckled.

Karen stood up with the box on her hip ,"Oh yeah, I noticed that when we bought the house," she chuckled out of nervousness.

"I mean," the boy pulled out a card from his back pocket. "I have a business, I can handle that for you if you want," he smiled at Karen, showing most of his teeth.

Karen took a look at the business card. "When can you come over?" She looked back up at the boy.

"I.. I can come tomorrow," the boy tried not to show his nervousness towards Karen.

"Oh and.. my mother makes us have family dinner every Sunday, if you'd like to come you know get to know your new neighbors," the boy moved his curly hair out his face.

"I'll be there, can I bring my daughter also?" Karen asked looking back down at his card with her hand on her hip.

"Yeah of course," the boy replied quickly.

"Alrighty, I'll see you then," Karen flashed a bright smile and headed back into her house.

A few hours had passed since Karen's busy move in started, Karen sat on the bedroom floor unpacking.

"Hey hun," Drew said as he walked into their bedroom sitting his briefcase down.

"Hey.." Karen said while she drifted off to the bathroom with the phone glued to her ear.

"What's wrong?" Drew asked as he followed her.

Karen let out a quick sigh, "Dorinda let me call you back," she then quickly hung up and sat the phone down.
