The young retired officer of the imperial Russian army,Andrei Sidorof had just reached the shore of the Greek Island of Mani, also known as Mani Peninsula.

After the death of his beloved wife from suicide under unknown circumstances, the young man seemed unable to smile again.

Reaching to the island,it was an attempt to try and bring a sense of happiness back in what he somehow still called life.

The people of the island seemed busy like most of the days, the pirates defending the island, the apple of their eye with all their might and force.

Living for 396 years with the Turkish people, four years later would happen what would later be named in the golden pages of the Greek history as the Greek War of Independence of 1821.

The young Russian retired officer looked around, while walking across the shore, and suddenly his steps faltered. He stopped, his eyes closing momentarily,as he took in a deep breath.

Breathing heavily the fresh air, with the smell of the ocean invading his nostrils, his ears suddenly perked up at the sound of the voice of a young woman.

His eyes shot open, goosebumps prickling on his skin.He had never heard a woman, more so a human, singing so heavenly.

It was as if she was one of those mythical ancient creatures, the Sirens.

Sirens in the ancient Greek Mythology were the mythical enchantresses of the ocean, who people heared often during their voyage in the ocean.

Singing, you were unable to ignore their song, and moved towards them, but they only had one sinister reason behind them wanting you to get close to them.

Approaching them, you were doomed to drown to your untimely death in the pitch black depths of the ocean that they resided in.

And that is why people also named them the demons of the ocean.

But that woman...Dear good Lord, she sounded like a true angel...

Andrei's eyes sought out the source of the young woman's voice with eager eyes,as he started walking to where it sounded from.

"Dancing bears
Painted wings
Things I almost remember.
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully across my memory.."

Peeking through the trees, the young Russian retired officer was stunned with the beauty of the woman who was singing.

Sun kissed skin dusted by freckles, black curls and the most magnificent green eyes...

Sitting down on the sand, surrounded by many women, she seemed as if she was entertaining her friends.

His heart thumped crazily against his chest as he carefully watched the young woman sing, seeming as if he was put under a trance.

The feeling of his heart thumping crazily against his chest was something that he had only ever felt with his beloved wife.

His heart momentarily found its way to his chest, where he could feel his heart almost ready to burst out of his chest.

"Дорогой добрый Бог..."(Dear good God)the man whispered as he seemed unable to pull his eyes away from the beautiful young woman.

Going to step away from the scene,he suddenly stepped on a branch that delicately rested on the sand, causing it to crunch underneath his boot.
