I was reading a book and Jinki was watching TV when I heard him mutter something and I had to look up from the book I was reading to see what made him so worked up.
"What was it?"
"That man is eating a chicken..." Jinki said, eyes wide with amazement. "A freaking chicken!"
I looked at the TV and realized he was watching a cooking show, where the chef was trying out the roasted chicken he obviously just cooked. I was wondering what's so wrong about eating a chicken so I asked, "You haven't eaten a chicken before?"
"Are you crazy? No!"
I later found out that fairies are vegetarians. It's not really against their fairy law or something to eat meat but Jinki said they already got used to not eating any kind of meat that trying it for the first time sounds repulsive. It's like how you would feel with the idea of eating exotic foods.
And so the next day I made sure Jinki tries eating meat for the first time. I cooked fried chicken for breakfast and nothing else. He hated the idea of course. I was worried that he would magically turn my chicken into a bowl of fruits and vegetables but I guess he changed his mind when he saw how eager I was to see him try eating my home-cooked fried chicken.
He took a bite, with hesitation of course. "How was it?" I asked hoping I didn't sound too excited.
Jinki didn't reply right away. He gulped down some water before turning his gaze on me, his expression unreadable.
"So?" I asked again.
This time he grinned and said, "It's good." Jinki ended up being addicted to chicken that I almost regretted letting him try it in the first place.

As selfish as it may sound, I wish Jinki stays forever. I already got used to him around so thinking about a life without him doesn't feel right. He helps me in so many ways, in so many times that I could no longer count. When I get wounded he would heal even the smallest of my cuts. He tends to help with my daily chores like cooking and cleaning and even if he makes a mess more often than not, I find it endearingly cute.
His subtle ways of stealing kisses from me, his habit of always staring at me which is really unnerving and never fails to make me blush, his never-ending persistence to always try to help even if I said he doesn't have to, I find them all endearing that one day I just realized that I have fallen in love.
After weeks of living together, we became really close. It's as if I've already learned everything there is to know about him and he already learned everything there is to know about me. It's like we've already known each other for so long. We started holding hands without worrying about how the other would feel about it. Sometimes Jinki would wrap his arms around me when he notices I'm cold. His hands would emit a warm feeling and it's comforting. Sometimes I would find myself dozing off in his embrace. When I wake up he would still be there, all smiles and handsome as ever.
But of course good things always comes to an end. He was in the middle of stretching when I accidentally saw his back and noticed the cut on his wings to be completely healed. I was suddenly worried because I know it would only be a matter of time before Jinki leaves for good. As much as I wanted him to stay I cannot prevent him from leaving if he wanted to.
I watched him some more, admiring those pair of wings from a distance. When he was done stretching, the wings disappeared again in a blink of an eye. That sight never fails to amaze me.
Jinki sat on the couch with a flop and that's when I noticed he was holding something on his hands.
"What are you doing?" I asked and he looked at me with a dazzling smile.
