(Y/N)'s POV
Ever since that afternoon, my life has completely turned the other way around. I left school and dedicated my time to my jobs, while also leaving time to hang out with Willow and Rash.
One day, me and Willow came up with an idea to go hang out at the nearby carnival that's been set up recently. Rash didn't want to come, so we left him to do his own thing.
We were walking down the sidewalk towards the carnival while talking a bit.
"So, have you been to the carnival before, Willow?" I ask, trying to start a conversation.
"Nope. Being homeless, we could never afford to go there."
"Oh, I-I'm s-sorry, I forgo-" I tried apologizing, but Willow cut me off.
"Don't worry, it's okay. Look, we're almost there, I can already see the entrance." Willow pointed out while motioning with her index finger towards the direction of the carnival.
"Yeah, I can see it too. Wanna race? Last one's a rotten egg!" I challenged my wolf friend, and also got a good head start by running off before she could register what I said.
"So that's how you want to play this?" She snickered and got ready to run.
I was laughing while running, not looking back. I only looked back for a moment to see if Willow set off after me, and oh boy that's what she did. She was already right behind me and was about to overtake me.
Willow eventually caught up to me, looking at me with a smirk. I was too focused on her though to see what was in front of me on the ground. It was a sizable rock, which made anyone who wasn't careful enough, trip.
My face planted right into the ground, making Willow come to a halt. She almost fell as well.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?!" She crouched down next to me, trying to help me up.
"Yeah, I'm okay.." I grumbled as I rubbed my nose, luckily it didn't break.
"You shouldn't have challenged me to a race," Willow snickered, "I would've won either way."
"Yeah, yeah.. Let's just go." I mumbled grumpily, walking behind the wolf, ashamed of what just happened.
I looked up and saw people snickering while looking in my direction, and it seems Willow also caught onto it, as she grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the area.
We finally arrived at the carnival, though it was more quiet than we thought it would be. The two of us then made our way to the closest tents where we were able to shoot water guns to get prices.
When we arrived at the tents, a clown made his way up to us, asking if we wanted to play. I of course said yes, handed the necessary amount of money to the clown and picked up the gun. I turned around and looked at Willow.
"Which one do you want?" I asked her.
She then pointed at a keychain of a revolver. "That one, please."
"Alright, coming right up!" I shot at the stick holding up the keychain to knock it down, but sadly I hit the one right next to it, making a different keychain fall down. "Dang it!"
I gripped the gun harder, thinking that I have to pay again, but remembered that I paid for three shots. I shot once again at the desired keychain, but I shot the other stick on the other side of it, making a laser pointer fall down. I sighed loudly, facepalming. Willow just chuckled behind me. The clown looked at me, as if he was waiting for me to fail so I would want to buy another three shots to get that revolver keychain. But it kinda seemed like he was looking through me instead of at me...
