Part 33

Two days later
I was in the airport saying goodbye to Ivy and Mason which was kind of sad. I wish they could stay for longer because I'am thinking to move back to Spain now.
"we gotta go to our board" Ivy said and smiled. I went over to her and hugged her hard. She is one of the reasons I could stand by myself and have the life I have right now. "thank you for coming" I said and smiled. "thank you for taking care of us so much aaaaand don't forget to come back and visit us" she says and I look at her confused. "you're literally dumb if you move back to England, leaving Pablo in Spain." She says and I just laugh. "totally agree there" Mason peeks in between.

"I guess you guys have already made a decision instead of me" I say and they both nod. I go over to Mason to hug him as well. "ouffff, I'm gonna miss spending every evening with you as well" I say.  Over these past years he have really became like an older brother for me. And knowing that I'll probably won't be able to go 5 minutes and see him is a bit sad. "you can come and visit anytime, especially in like some months. I'll give you the baby and go sleep myself" he says jokingly and I laugh. "I'll come and visit when your little baby is born. Can't wait." I reply.

The last thing Mason says before we say goodbye is "you have changed so much since the first time I met you. You belong to Barcelona, really" he says and I almost get tears falling down. If someone knows how I was at my lowest then it's him. "one of the reasons that I'm here is you." I say and smile.

"have a good flight and text me when you are home" I say to both of them and wave goodbye as they do the same. And in some minutes they have disappeared into the people and I go back to my car and drive home. My decision is made.

One week later, New Year's Eve

I was getting ready to celebrate new year with Pablo, Bella and Pedri and the most important thing in Bella's life would probably happen today. Pedri told me like yesterday that he's going to propose to Bella and I'am so excited for her as if it's me who is getting engaged. He had already planned everything and I just needed to bring her there without her knowing anything. I'd just pretend like I made a surprise for her but in reality it was Pedri's surprise.

As I was done doing my hair and makeup I was on my way to put on my outfit but then the bell rang and it was Bella. "come in" I said as I opened the door. "I'll just change into my outfit quickly" I added and she said that she'll wait in the living room.

When I was done I went down to Bella and we started to drive to the place where Pedri would be with Pablo. "take this on your eyes" I said and gave her a sleeping mask. "why?" She asked me curiously. "my New Year's Eve gift for you. It's a surprise" I said. "wait, I haven't prepared any new years gift for you?" She says and I just laughed. "I know. It's not a big surprise, don't worry" I say. "alright, don't be late to meet up Pedri and Pablo then" she adds as she puts on the sleeping mask. I giggle for myself because little does she knows that we are driving towards Pedri right now.

When we arrive I help Bella to get out of the car and and leads her to the place where Pedri is waiting. I wave hi Pablo as I approach with Bella. "are we there?" She asks me. "yep, we are now. Wait a second" I say and wait till pedri is ready. Then I take the sleeping mask off. "Pedri?" She says and looks confused. Then she looks around and sees all of the lights and flowers that has been fixed for her and I go back and stand next to Pablo as I hold his hand.
"I don't understand a thing right now" she says and Pedri laughs. "well, we have been together for more than 5 years now and I really wanna spend the rest of my life with you, have a family with you." He says and smiles. He takes out the little red box and gets down on his knees.

"stooop" she says and holds her mouth as she turns around to see me and I just giggle. Then she looks at Pedri again. "Bella Rodriguez, will you marry me?" He says and I can see how Bella is starting to cry of happiness. As she wouldn't get any words out of her mouth she nods like a thousand times and Pedri puts the ring on her finger and hugs her.
"how cute" I say and lay my head on Pablo. "can't wait to see how you will look with a ring on your finger" Pablo says and I just look at him without him seeing confused. He just said that he wants to propose to me or am I dumb? "yea- let's go then" I say and take quick steps towards Bella. I hear how Pablo laughs behind me since he figured out what was going on with me. I hate that he knows me so well, sometimes.

"IM ENGAGED" Bella screams as I approach her and we both jump or happiness. "YOU AREEE" I scream back and laugh. I can see the corner of my eyes how Pablo and Pedri is hugging as well. "let me see the ring" I say and she gives me her hand.
The ring was absolutely stunning and it suited her so well. Pedri knew what type of ring she wanted on spot, really.
I hug Pedri as well and congratulate him. "thank you, Milena" he replies. As we were done and calmed down a bit we took a little promenade to the restaurant that we were going to eat at and then after that we would throw some fireworks.

"you're smile is huge" I say as I walk with Bella and Pedri goes with Pablo behind us. "I'm very surprised, that's probably why" she says and laughs. "I saw this coming" I say and touch her shoulders a bit. "I'm so happy" she says and looks up at the sky and I do with her. "you two deserves to be it" I reply.
"with you, I think I'll always will be" she says and I just look at her with my smile. "stoop, everyone is so sweet today" I say and laugh.

"how come?" She asks and I look back without the boys noticing me and look if they are to near or not. Then I whisper to Bella. "Pablo said that he can't wait too see how I look with a ring on my finger" I say as quietly as possible and I Bella was near to scream out what I just said so i covered her mouth trying to stop her. "shhh" I say. "wait? What did you say then?" She asks me.

"I kind of freaked out a little bit and ran over to you" I say and rub my hair. Bella laughs at what I've done and so do I with her. "that was cute of him" she says. I agree but, I don't know, I was just not expecting that so soon. "enough about that, let's get back to your proposal" I say and we continue to talk.

When we arrive at the restaurant we sit down at our table and start to order some food. When we were done Bella's phone was ringing and she took it up and it was her dad.
"privet, papa (hello, dad)" she said and I assumed she was talking in russian. "dobryy vecher (good evening)" her dad replied.
"prosto khotel pozvonit' i pozhelat' tebe schastlivogo novogo goda. Khotel priyekhat' v Ispaniyu i otprazdnovat' eto s toboy i tvoim parnem, no, k sozhaleniyu, ne smog. Ya priyedu i otprazdnuyu s toboy russkoye Rozhdestvo. (just wanted to call and wish you a happy new year. Sorry that I couldn't attend it and be with you and your boyfriend, I'll promise to come and celebrate Russian Christmas with you)" he said to her and Bella smiled. "S Novym godom, i eto ne imeyet znacheniya, papa. Togda uvidimsya primerno cherez nedelyu. YA seychas uzhinayu, tak chto pozvonyu tebe pozzhe. Udachnogo. (Happy new year to you too and it's alright dad. And im at the dinner right now so I'll call you later.)" she says and they said goodbye to each other and she hung up the phone.

"it's so weird that some of the Russian people celebrate Christmas like in January" Bella says and takes a sip of her champagne. "I didn't even know that" Pablo replies.

When we were done eating there was some music playing and some of the couples sitting across the table were dancing together. There was an old couple who danced together and they were so cute. "wanna dance?" Pablo asks me from nowhere and I come back to reality. "wai-what?" I ask as my brain did not really comprehend what he just said. "let's go dance" he said again and stands up as he reaches out with his hand. I look up at him and takes his hand and he leads me out where everyone dances and so do we.

"are you alright?" He asks me. "yep, I'am. How so?" I ask him. "you have been very quiet since we met, today" he says. I was trying to avoid eye contact with him to be honest. "oh.." was the only thing I said. "Lena, tell me what it is." He says and I look at him. "is it what I said? About the ring?" He asks and notices that it's exactly that even though I haven't said anything. "oh, im sorry if that was wrong of me to say that." He says and rubs his hair and now I felt bad. He does that mostly when he starts to feel stressed.

"nooo, it was really not something wrong or so. I was just really shocked because I wouldn't think you would say that." I say and look at Bella's side. I see how she and Pedri were sitting and having fun together. I look back and I can see how Pablo's mood has changed just in seconds. I can tell by his eyes that he was upset by what I just said. "hey, I don't mean it that way. I want my future to be connected with you" I say and smile as I make him smile as well with my hands. "I love you, Milena" he says. "I love you even more, mister Gavira" I say and giggle.
As we were done dancing all of us took our things and went out back to our place since it was time to throw some fireworks.

We prepared our fireworks and looked at the clock to wait until it was 5 seconds left to scream the last 5 second out together which we also did and our fireworks started to blow up and I watched at them while hugging Pablo. "happy new year, mi amor" I say and kiss him.
