.
"Katie...." I mumbled under my breath. A loud bang came from outside, Causing me to jump. I moved into the corner of my living room. I didn't want to move. I was sick just thinking about it.
The house was still and dark. All I could hear was the Tick Tick Tick of the almost soothing clock.
It was almost the anniversary. The anniversary I dreaded every single year since I moved here when I was 7. I didn't know her.. We weren't best friends.... But if I didn't do what she said.....
Movement came from the far side of the room. I froze.
"Katie....?" I said quietly, There was no response. "Katie?" I tried again, Abit louder this time, While standing up. I had to get this over with..
I heard whispering in the far corner. It was pitch black, I couldn't see anything. I slowly crept to the far side of the room, Straining to hear the voice the whispering was coming from. As I got to the corner, there she was. Katie. The girl who died in this house, Stabbed multiple times then chocked to death.
She looked dazed. She was playing with her fingers while chanting a ritual of some sort. Her family had always been religious.. Or so she said.
"Katie?" I said. Her head snapped up. Eyes a creepy glowing blue. She started making a choking sound. I froze. She stood up and desended towards me.
"Don't be afraid, Remember, Were best friends forever." She said with a smile that sent a shiver right down my spine. She said the same things every year.
"I thought you weren't going to show.." I said trying to look as confident as I could, When honestly, I wanted to run like hell.
"Of course I show, You know what day it is....." She said, Looking behind me, As if she'd seen something. I slowly turned to see what she was looking at. The wall was splatted with blood.
This was new. Usually she'd just talk to me, Or threathen me.
I let out a small noice from the back of my throat, then turned back around to see Katie. She was in a kissing distance of my face. I screamed this time a real scream. If only my parents had been home tonight, But they went out to a party, Leaving me all alone. She jumped on top of my and covered my mouth.
"Shhhh..." She cooed. "You know what the neighbours will think... Last time they heard a scream in this house...." She sailed off what she was saying.
"You died." I said quietly. Her face whipped around to mine. Glowing a deep red now.
"Dead? I'm not dead..." She said, Gripping onto my neck hard, Drawing some blood with her fingernails.. Yes, She was dead, Yes, She was a ghost, but dare I say that again to her? Nope.
"Ow, Stop Katie, You're hurting me!" I said as soon as she took her hand off my mouth.
"We can be bestfriends forever and ever... No worries, No special dates being the only time I can see you. You and me together, Forever." She said, Staring into my eyes, I was unable to look away. I shook my head.
"No....." I said loudly. Rolling out from under her. I stood up and balanced myself, Trying to get a good look at the room.
I looked around and she was gone. I bolted towards the door, everything now was splattered with blood, I could hear Katies screams. She was replaying her death scene on my way out. I was almost to the door when I heard the choking noise. Then a loud bang. Then silence.
Youll be sorry...
Was the last thing I heard before I bolted out into the streets. I was in the middle of the road when I heard it. A car honk. I turned to my right to see a large black truck coming at me full speed. I didnt have time to scream before It hit me.
The last thing I seen was Katies face inches from mine and a voice in my head saying,
Now we can be bestfriends forever.....
