"Dad, mai ne aap sab logon ko yahan isiliye bulaya hai kyun ke mujhe aap sab ko kuch batana hai" Kashmala started, her voice trembling with nerves, her hands clenched tightly at her sides.

As she looked around at the faces of her family, she felt a surge of anxiety building within her. It was as if each glance held the weight of what she was about to say and the intensity of their reactions only heightened her apprehension. She knew this moment would change everything, and the thought alone sent shivers down her spine. Yet, she couldn't delay any longer; the truth begged to be revealed, no matter how daunting it seemed.

"Ab bata bhi dou Kashmala, aisi bhi kya baat hai?" Mubashira chuckled, her eyes gleaming with curiosity as she awaited the revelation from her sister-in-law. The air was thick with anticipation, each family member leaning forward with eager expressions, their curiosity palpable. But as Kashmala uttered her next words, the atmosphere shifted dramatically.

"Mai Rayyan se khula le rahi houn" she declared, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and determination. Her heart pounded in her chest, the rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins as she braced herself for their reactions.

The once jovial smiles vanished, replaced by expressions of confusion, anger, and disbelief. Kashmala felt the weight of their stares bearing down on her, each one a testament to the gravity of her decision. Yet, despite the turmoil in her heart, she knew it was a step she had to take for her and her unborn child's happiness and well-being.

"What?" Jaffer exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief as he rose from his seat, her father mirroring his actions. The two of them stared at Kashmala, their expressions a mix of shock and incredulity. It felt as though the ground had shifted beneath their feet, leaving them unsteady and bewildered.

Kashmala met their gaze with all the confidence she could muster, her own resolve wavering slightly under the weight of their disbelief but she forced herself to remain strong and adamant. Yet, despite their strong reactions, she knew deep down that she was making the right choice for herself and her child. It was a moment fraught with emotion, each heartbeat echoing the tumultuous journey that had led her to this decision.

"K-k-Kashmala, ye kya keh rahi hou, divorce? Magar kyun?" Mubashira stuttered, the word 'divorce' sending shivers down her spine as fear and anxiety gripped her tightly. Her hands trembled uncontrollably at her sides, and her heart pounded furiously in her chest, each beat echoing the turmoil within her. A sensation of lightheadedness washed over her, as if the ground beneath her had suddenly turned to quicksand and she was sinking deeper and deeper with each breath.

In that moment, a flood of worst-case scenarios surged through her mind. If Kashmala was indeed divorcing Rayyan, it could spell disaster for her own marriage to Zaid. She remembered the promise she had made to Kashmala, to never let her and Zaid's marital issues come between Rayyan and herself, and to uphold that promise faithfully. But now, faced with the stark reality of a potential divorce, Mubashira felt the weight of her vow bearing down on her like never before.

The thought of another failed marriage filled her with dread. Society's judgment, the whispers behind her back, the scrutiny of her choices—all of it threatened to suffocate her. Would people question her worth again? Doubt her integrity again? Blame her for the failure of yet another marriage? Mubashira trembled at the prospect of becoming the subject of society's gossip once more, her fears magnified by the uncertainty of what lay ahead.

Caught between being the subject of gossip once more, and the looming specter of her own marital turmoil, Mubashira grappled with a torrent of emotions. The future now seemed more uncertain than ever, fraught with complexities she couldn't even begin to unravel. And in that moment of vulnerability, she feared she might lose not only her marriage but also her own sense of self.
