AARON HOTCHNER SITS AT his desk, a bunch of papers in front of him and a stack of files at the edge of his desk. He's in the middle of writing something down when the phone rang on his desk. Aaron looked at it and picked it up, holding it to his ear.
"Aaron, come to my office." Erin Strauss says on the other line. She then hangs up, not letting Aaron question anything. Aaron places the phone down and stands while flattening his suit down.
As he made his way to her office he begins to question why she needs to speak with him. As far as he knows everything has been fine. So why does she sound so urgent?
He pushed open Strauss's office door, looking at the blonde woman sitting at her desk. She gestures to one of the chairs in front of her. Aaron takes a seat, undoing a button and leaning back.
They don't speak for a moment until Erin took off her glasses, eyeing Aaron. "I'm not sure how to put this," Erin says. "You'll have a new member on your team in a few days."
A new member? What does that mean? And who?
"What does that mean?" Aaron questions.
"What it means is you will have a trainee on your team. You will make them feel comfortable. And you cannot and will not change that. You don't have a say in this Aaron."
Aaron doesn't know what to say or do. Some random person is joining his team. Someone they don't know, someone who might make a mistake in the field.
"You will receive a file a day before he comes in. I can't change a thing, Agent Hotchner. I didn't make this call."
"Is that all?" Aaron questions, his voice level. Erin nods and Aaron stood, buttoned his suit, and walked out the door. He goes back to his office and continues to work, trying to put the information in the back of his head.

Just like Erin said, Hotch received a file a few days later. He's kept this information from his team. The last thing they need to worry about is some new guy. Aaron thanked the agent that handed him the file. He opens it, noticing the image right away.
The man is tanish with dirty blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He isn't suppost to be smiling, as it's supposed to be a profesional photo. But the smirk on the mans lips is noticible.
Hotchner reviews the file. Agent Grey worked in HRT for almost six years, he has no criminal records, hell, based on his file he would make a good profiler.
But only experience in the field will determine that. Hotch looks out his office window and sees Derek Morgan packing his stuff. He decides in that moment to not tell his team until Agent Grey arrives. He needs his team focused, and he doesn't need Garcia snooping into other people's lives. Especially if Agent Grey doesn't become a profiler.
He closes Agent Grey's file and rubs his forehead. He's tired, exausted. But he continues to do cases, eyeing Agent Grey's that sits at the corner of the desk.
