Chapter 7

I'd growl frustrated as I stormed back into the powder room where Ms.Joanne was waiting for me,

"Ms.Maverick!"She'd blink surprised rushing over to me. "how did it go-?"

"Decline every partnership deal with Mr.Griffin I do not wish to be forced to do such things with a  rude peasant!"I'd say stiffly sitting down on the chair and gulping down a bit of the thing called 'coffee'. 

"All right Ms.Maverick" Ms.Joanne quickly replied going on a weird black slab and typing away.

Months had passed since my random appearance into this weird world and I had adjusted to society's strange customs and behaviors. They were way more advanced than during my era, so adjusting to iPhones, tablets, and other things that accessed 'the internet' was immensely confusing. 

"Ms.Maverick!" Ms.Joanne hollered rushing to me from the entrance of the coffee shop. I'd raise to look at her hobbling on her 2-inch heels.

"What is it Ms.Joanne?"I'd ask placing my cup of coffee down. 

  "Mr.Griffin sent you a formal email asking you for a meeting"Ms.Joanne said staring at me. "Would you like me to decline or-"

"Show me it"I'd sigh holding out my hand and she placed the tablet down and I'd scroll over the contents. 

I'd scowl and respond with a simple "Alright".

"Get out the car we'll leave in five"I told Ms.Joanne rising. Ms.Joanne nodded and quickly scurried out of the coffee shop where the black limousine sat there awaiting. I wore a simple yet matching crop top with a skirt as my heels clacked against the gravel ground as I made my way over to the limousine. The Chauffeur opened the door for me and I took a seat. The ride was pleasantly comfortable way better than the bumpy rides I had suffered through in my carriages. The limousine soon enough pulled up in front of the the manor I had miraculously appeared in. The Chauffeur opened the door for me and I got up and Ms.Joanne followed me as I stepped out, and infront of the gigantic doors awaited the insufferable man I tried to ignore. A small smirk flitted across his handsome features and I pressed my lips firmly against each other as irritation bubbled in the pit of my stomach.

"What was so important that you had to send me an email, Mr.Griffin"I said smoothly raising a perfectly trimmed brow at him.  His ruby eyes settled over me and I stared at him a bit with annoyance stretched across my features. 

"Well I thought about what you said earlier"He said smoothly his gaze flitting across my figure which caused my cheeks to flame and I crossed my arms.

  "Keep your eyes to yourself..."I said stiffly.

"Sorry what can I say my eyes have a hard time focusing on you when you look quite ravishing." he said smoothly a predatory grin spreading across his lips. 

I froze my eyes blinking as I heard Ms.Joanne blink and cough. 

   "Did you call me here to flirt or is there something important-!"I said quickly.

"Well what if I say I believe you"He said taking slow deliberate steps towards me. My gaze softly widened as I gazed at him.

   "How do I know you aren't toying with me"I said softly with a questioning look.

"Does it look like i'm toying with you doll?"He said silkly. My cheeks flamed and I nearly tripped on my heels as I took a step back and his arm snaked around my slim waist within a few seconds and my body was press flushed against his. 

"What are you doing-!?"I squeaked trying to move away from him but he didn't even budge. 

"You tripped, would you rather me let you fall"he said smoothly raising a brow.

"No-..!"

"Than whats the problem"He said flashing his pearly whites at me which caused my heart to flutter. 

Ms.Joanne let out a soft gasp. "M-Ms. Maverick d-do you want me to leave you t-two alone...!?".

I froze my cheeks flaming up. "No-, I think we have finished business here..!"

"Yes we would like that very much"Cedric said with a low rumble before he tugged me into his manor leaving a awestruck Ms.Joanne standing outside. 

"WHAT IS WITH YOU!?"I snapped smacking him away. 

"Be quiet-"He said pressing a finger to my lips and I froze when he moved to stand infront of me. My heart was hammering as my slender hands gently pressed against his shoulders as I peered from behind him.

 "Did you decide to have a little lover without informing me, Brother~" A feminine purr echoed through the manor. I blinked when I saw a stunning woman walk down the swirling staircase with long black hair and striking ruby eyes resembling Cedric. She wore a sexy red dress that clung to her frame and her lips were painted red. 

  "Valerie what are you doing here-"Cedric sighed with a low irritated grumble. 

"What are you hiding, brother dearest~"Valerie purred walking over. 

"Nothing"Cedric said moving to block her view of me.

"If you don't move I will pluck your feathers one by one"Valerie said with an eerie snarl. Cedric stiffened and then he quickly sidestepped and I blinked staring at the ethereal woman infront of me. 

"oh~, aren't you the prettiest little thing"Valerie gasped and cooed as she circled me with hawk-like eyes. 

 "Val do not do anything stupid-"Cedric groaned.

"MAKEOVERRR!"Valerie squealed grabbing my hand and dragging me up the stairs. A little gasp escaped my lips and I was dragged along and Cedric sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose with irritation. 

What have I gotten myself into....
