Everything. Everything here is awful. My boss is a bitch who complains all the time, and always leaves me to pick up his work. And that means I stay in the office late.
'Ugh... finally...' I thought to myself as I saved the newly finished file, and sent it to his and my email. I shut the computer down, and grabbed my stuff, as I hear my phone ding for a newcoming email.As I made my way to the elevator I thought about how I'm getting home.
'Damn it, my car is in the shop today.'
Flash back to this morning
As I got outside and to my car, I tried turning it on. But it wouldn't. It make the sound of an engine running out, or something like that.
I looked at the time. 7:38am. Susan lives a few blocks away. Maybe she could pick me up...
First I called for a truck to pick up my car and take it to a shop. And then I called for Susan.
"Hello, Susan speaking." She said in a cheerful voice.
"Hello Susan, this is Alice." I inform her. "Oh, hi Alice." She said.
"Hi, I was wondering if you can drop me off at work, because my car broke down." I told her.
"Well of course. I mean we both are going to the same place anyways."
"Thank you." I told her.
"Your welcome."
Present time
I sighed as I stepped out of the elevator. My two inch heels click cracking against the empty hallway floor.
When I exit the building, I was more than surprised at how crowded it was. "Excuse me, excuse me..." I said as I bumped into people. But somehow I ended up in the street.
When I turned around, I saw a bright white light, and along with a car honking. I shielded my eyes as the car came to a skidding stop in front of me. And as on reflex, my hands immediately slammed on the hood of the car, as if to stop it.
'Wow, that was a close one.' I thought. When I looked back up, I was able to see that a taxi had almost hit me. The taxi driver rolled down the window.
"Watch where you going you fool!"he yelled at me. I traveled around the cab and to the back door, where I opened it. "Oh now you want a ride."He said rolling his eyes.
"West 44 lake please." I told him.
