At that moment, everything fell apart. Antonio lunged forward, but Mariana was quick. "Stay away!" she shouted, clutching Amelia against her chest as she darted into the backyard.
The world around them blurred into chaos as Antonio shouted after her. "You'll regret this, Mariana! You can't just take her!"
Isabella's heart raced as she ran after them, her mind racing with fear. How had it come to this? The sister she loved was now a stranger, driven by jealousy and pain.
"Let her go!" Antonio demanded, his voice steady but filled with anger. "You're not thinking straight!"
Mariana's eyes filled with tears, her voice trembling. "I just wanted to be part of it," she cried, the tears flowing freely. "I wanted to be loved, too."
Isabella rushed to her sister's side, enveloping her in a hug. "You are loved, Mariana. You always have been. But this isn't the way to show it."
As the three of them stood together, the weight of the moment pressed heavily upon them. Antonio held Amelia close, while Isabella comforted her sister, who was now trembling with emotion.
Later that night, Antonio sat in the living room with his best friend, Marco. The events of the day hung heavily in the air, and the flickering light from the fireplace cast shadows on their faces.
" I can't believe what happened," Marco said, shaking his head. "Mariana stealing Amelia? That's insane."
Antonio clenched his fists. "I wanted to kill her for taking her. I just can't wrap my head around how she could do that."
"I get it, man. But you need to focus on finding her. That's what matters now," Marco said, his voice steady. "Have you talked to Isabella about what you're going to do next?"
"Yeah, she feels so guilty for leaving Amelia. She thinks if she had been home, this wouldn't have happened," Antonio replied, his voice thick with emotion. "But it's not her fault. Mariana has been struggling for a long time, and I think she finally snapped."
"Right. You need to reassure Isabella that she's not to blame for this. And you should both come together to figure out how to find Amelia," Marco suggested. "We'll get through this. You have to get the boys involved too. They love her."
Antonio sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You're right. The boys will want to help. They adore Amelia. But how do we even start?"
"We'll form a search party the gang will help. Call all your friends, and we'll spread the word. We can check the parks, community centers wherever Mariana might have gone," Marco replied, his voice firm. "We can't let her think she can get away with this. We'll bring Amelia back."
Antonio nodded, determination flooding his veins. "You're right. We're going to find her, no matter what it takes."
As they plotted their course of action, Antonio's heart burned with the desire to protect his family. He would do anything to keep them safe, and he would not let jealousy tear them apart. Together, they would navigate the challenges ahead, united by love and the fierce bond of family.
