"So what's the latest with Legends?" Mohan inquired, eager for updates. Ria had initially been thrilled when Legends had shown interest, but now she seemed tight-lipped about the progress. Mohan couldn't decipher if the silence meant the deal had fallen through or if there were unspoken tensions between them. Their relationship was complex, to say the least.
"They're still interested," Nithin replied vaguely, and Mohan couldn't help but feel sympathy for his friend. Mohan understood the potential of Nithin's work and its market viability, but he also recognized the fierce competition in the industry. Success wasn't solely determined by skill; luck played a significant role too. Mohan knew that Nithin's best chance for substantial growth would likely involve selling his company to a larger firm and then working for them, which would lead to a significant increase in the value of his stocks.
But Mohan also knew Nithin well enough to understand that he wouldn't easily relinquish control. Nithin's entrepreneurial spirit drove him to want to own and nurture his company rather than simply be absorbed by a larger entity.
"So, how about we watch something now, just chill, order lunch, and then head out for coffee?" Vinaya suggested, her enthusiasm palpable.
Nithin nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a plan. We have game night tonight, but that's flexible."
"I would actually like to meet your friends too, Vaave," Mohan told his sister, his curiosity piqued, particularly about meeting Camarillo.
"Great!" Nithin exclaimed. "Anay wanted you to meet his fiancée Mithila as well. We can all meet up together." He too wanted to meet this Camarillo character who his girlfriend seemed to love hanging out with.
"Okay, let me text Camarillo and Cynthia to see if they're free," Vinaya said eagerly, reaching for her phone.
After confirming the plans, Vinaya picked "The Kissing Booth," much to her brother's annoyance and her boyfriend's exasperation. However, both men, brimming with adoration for her in their own ways, honored her request. They settled on the futon and played the movie on the laptop, positioning it on the coffee table. Vinaya wrapped herself in the blanket and offered it to Mohan and Nithin to share. Nithin accepted the offer, while Mohan declined.
As the movie progressed, Vinaya glanced over at her brother, who was surprisingly engrossed in the movie. She then boldly placed her hand on Nithin's thigh under the blanket, causing him to startle. His breath caught, and she braced herself for rejection, but instead, she felt his hand reach for her waist. A tingle spread through her stomach, and her heart raced as his fingers traced the waistband of her jeans, eventually unbuttoning them. Vinaya gasped, and Mohan's gaze turned toward her, perplexed.
She was flustered but pointed at the screen. "Elle broke the rule about not dating relatives and she lied to her best friend about it," she said, her words coming out unthinkingly. Nithin had removed his hand from her waist and was smirking, his eyes fixed on the screen.
"Yup, she shouldn't have dated her best friend's brother in the first place," Mohan agreed.
"Looks like they are in love though," Nithin shrugged. "If they are perfect for each other, her bestfriend should be happy for them."
"Bro! Are we seriously discussing this lame excuse for a movie?" Mohan asked, and Nithin laughed.
"Hey!" Vinaya scolded, "this movie is amazing! It is my third time watching it and I still love it!"
Nithin rolled his eyes before saying, "you have poor taste."
"Yeah," Vinaya agreed, "Especially in men." She narrowed her eyes at Nithin who raised his hands in surrender.
