"Yeah, we betrayed you. So what now? You are gonna revolt against us?..."
"You know what; we didn't expect you to be this dumb and pathetic..."
That was all I could hear in my head as I gazed at the clear blue sky while sitting in a taxi which was on its way to drop me off at the school which hopefully is going to provide me a new start in life.
As I get off the taxi and take all my stuff in my arms, I sigh in relief and proceed walking into the school building.
Rosemary international school is one of the best in this city. All the students in here belong to elite and well-educated families except me, probably. All I have is a grandfather who works as a Cardiologist at the hospital located in the center of this city.
One may wonder how I got into this prestigious school. Well, it's all thanks to the scholarship test they conduct every year for all the normal teens out there.
It's said that the test is so hard that only 8 students, including me, have cracked this test during the recent ten years. But I'm not so proud of it because it is nothing compared to what I have gone through in my past.

I finally reach the Dean's office and as soon as I enter the room, I see him laid back in his office chair reading some document intently. He hears the door open so he lifts his head and looks at me through the edge of his glasses.
"Mia Eloise?" He asks me while putting the document away onto his desk.
"Yes sir, it's me Mia Eloise."
"Oh Mia!" He exclaims ."Welcome, welcome!" he stands up from his chair and approaches me with a big smile on his face "So Mia, how are you feeling now that you achieved something cool?"
I intend to be honest. I don't smile, I don't get emotional. All is do is stare at him with a straight face. "Well, I've achieved only a seat in the school and not my goal yet."
The Dean sighs and smiles faintly "Don't you think you are pushing yourself too hard?"
His question kind of pisses me off. I don't want anyone to care about me because I'm fine alone and I can take good care of myself. After all, the one who knows me the most is me, myself.
I take a deep breath before I answer his question. "No sir, I'm perfectly fine at the moment"
Before he could speak again, I interrupt him.
"May I request you to hand me my room keycard? I need to have some rest, please."
He sighs softly and smiles as he nods. "All the best, Mia".
I quickly yet gently grab the keycard from his hands and thank him before I walk out.

As I get into the elevator, someone rushes into it through the closing elevator doors. Out of curiosity, my gaze shifts onto him. He looks so tall, slender yet muscular. His dark hair is messy and long enough to reach the collar of his white shirt. We hear a phone ringing, basically his, and I notice him taking it from the pocket of his ripped jeans and soon as he sees the caller id, his eyes fill with rage...or something? I am not sure what it is and I don't care anyways.
"Fuck you Noah!" He yells through his phone. It makes me a bit annoyed that this jerk is shamelessly yelling at the person on the other side of his phone in a lonely elevator with an unknown girl next to him who might probably flinch due to his over reactions. Not gonna lie, I'm not flinched even a bit. This is not at all new to me.
"Once I catch you, I swear, I am going to beat up your ass real good, you lil' shit!" He deliberately hangs up the call before shoving his phone back into his pocket and stares at me with wide eyes like I am a mysterious creature . What the hell is wrong with him? .I feel a bit uncomfortable by his stares.
"Uhm, excuse me? What are you looking at?" I ask him with a sense of annoyance in my tone.
On hearing my words, he blinks as if he snapped out of a trance and shakes his head slowly while he looks down, running his hand through his hair. Once the elevator reaches the sixth floor, he walks out of the elevator, staring down, sweat dripping from his broad forehead and towards his chiseled jaw. The moment he walks out, the doors close.
I reach the seventh floor after a few seconds.

The hallway seems to be simple yet modern. The walls are painted white with grey lines painted vertically with a distance of 5-6 feet between each of them. Some potted plants were placed against the part of the walls which were painted grey. Some of them are creepers while some of them are plants bearing blue sweet peas.
I reach the other end of the hallway across the elevator. I look for room number 307, the last room located on the right side of the floor.
Each floor has six rooms on either side, one across the other. So there are twelve rooms in each floor and the dormitory has eight floors and hence forty eight rooms in total. And each room accommodates two students and therefore the total number of students in each of the three dormitories would be ninety-six. Overall, the total number of students is probably 288.
Out of 288 students, there are only two students who joined through the scholarship test this year i.e. myself and another girl-I don't know her name although, I heard she cheated in the test.
No wonder why she scored six marks more than me.
The wall next to my room has a big window of about 4 feet above the floor and the blue sky is so visible, the sunrays lighting up the whole hallway. It actually feels nice that this dorm isn't as gloomy as I expected it to be.
I walk towards the door of my room and swipe the card .The door gets unlocked.
My heart starts to race. I don't why. And even before I could open the door completely and step in, I hear a loud thump from one of the corners of the room.
