Jaggedpaw was pulling weeds from the cracks of the stone to the RiverClan border during a dry newleaf day when he trailed away from the weeds to a moth.
Moths didn't usually distract Jaggedpaw, but this moth felt unusual. It triggered something inside of him that made him feed wierd..
He got up and ran after the moth, who fluttered wildly in panic.
Jaggedpaw headed towards the border, swiping and leaping at it like it's a plump bird in the middle of a cold, cold leafbare.
He raced through the trees, but he lost it about halfway through. It flee over his head and darted into the mossy bushes, perching on top of a juniper berries bush.
He stopped in his tracks. He knew he was at the end of the border, the side that didn't go into any Clan's territory. He was on the very, VERY edge, and he was aware.. but..
There were cats coming down the other side of the hill. Not many cats at all, it seemed about half a Clan of cats trailing down the side of the hill.
Jaggedpaw looked back and made sure nobody was behind him.
He started forwards towards the group of cats, where he heard a light, maiden-like voice from the hollows. All of the other cats turned to look at him, and his heart dropped. He backed away and started raving towards the camp.
"Wait, no! Stop!" A tabby she-cat from the hill came to stop him. She was very pretty, and Jaggedpaw liked the way her pelt was so sleek, even though her ribs were showing right through her pelt.
"What? Who are you guys? Are you going to hurt the Clans?" He flexed his claws and bared his teeth speaking about it, he was so afraid.
"No, no! We're seeking help! Please help us, we're hungry." She looked a bit embarrassed by asking a cat at least two times smaller than her for help.
"I'll bring it to my leader. Do you have one?"
"He died recently." She bounced her tail back and forth as if she were eager. "Should we follow you to your leader?"
"No, please stay out here. That territory isn't our forest, so feel free to hunt there."
There wasn't much prey there anyway, but just to keep the group occupied.
Jaggedpaw turned and darted the rest of the way forward, towards camp. He didn't even stop to look at what the tabby was doing, even though she was probably out of sight by now.

"Juniperstar?" Jaggedpaw peeked through the cracks of the leaders' den. Juniperstar was curled up and asleep soundly.
Jaggedpaw decided to prod him with his paw.
"Juuuniperstarrr.." He said slowly.
"Huh? What did you want this late at night, Jaggedpaw?" Juniperstar raised her bulky head.
"There's cats outside of the forest. They aren't from here, but there's about half a Clan, and they need help."
"Huh? Let me see."
Juniperstar rose to her feet and trodded behind Jaggedpaw, their feet almost pattering in sync as the dawn light filtered through the cracks in the upcoming valley.
There was a white tom with black socks/fur around his feet. His back legs were gray while his front legs were black. Otherwise, he was all white.
"My name is Yarrowsnap. I am the temporary leader of this group of cats called EchoClan, and we need your help to survive the wilderness."
"Should I go?" Jaggedpaw asked nervously.
"No, you found them and deserve to be involved in this important conversation." Juniperstar stated boldly.
"Okay.." Jaggedpaw waited as they talked for a bit. Juniperstar looked very invested in the conversation, but Jaggedpaw took every chance he could to slip away, in one particular time he did it.
He slid away from the conversation, hoping that Juniperstar hadn't seen him charge into the forest to wake up his hopefully future mate, Duskpaw.
