Oliver and Jacob were hanging out in Oliver's room. They were playing Mario Kart, sitting side by side, and were currently having a very serious race. The two were extremely quiet, the air tense, both of them focusing on the game in front of them. All you could hear was the clicking of their controllers. Of course this was normal for the boys, this is what they did everyday. The usual routine in Oliver's and Jacob's life. Wake up, not want to wake up, try to go back to sleep but can't. Actually get up, get dressed for school, not want to go to school, but their parents force them to. Go to school but want to kill themselves every minute, finally get freed from hell and not do their homework. Pretend they did their homework, hide their tests, and play video games, eat, sleep, repeat. That was their life, easy and simple. Nothing new.
Then their match was just about to end when both of them were about to tie, but Oliver didn't want that. He harshly pushed Jacob with his shoulder and Jacob yelled with surprise but not losing focus, but that's when Oliver took his controller in one hand and pushed Jacob down to the ground with the other and sat on top of Jacob; one leg beside each of Jacob's sides keeping him down. But Jacob didn't give up that easily, all he managed to say was,
"H-hey! Get off me man!" he yelled and tried to squirm out of Oliver's grip while keeping his character, Boo, neck to neck with Princess Peach.
Oliver continuously tried to hold him down and get Jacob to lose but it wasn't that easy. Jacob was wayyyyyyyyyy taller than him, stronger than him, and heavier than him. But of course Jacob being the caring friend he was didn't want to hurt his best friend by flipping him over. Jacob kept thrashing around, his legs kicking the air. Oliver sighed angrily while still focusing on the game trying to win when his cart cut around the corner and bumped into the sides, Oliver groaned with frustration and slumped knowing he might now have a chance at this point but when he moved he felt something under him. It was hard, Oliver didn't know what it was so he moved around trying to get comfortable, determined to at least not let the bots defeat him. But when he did that Jacob made a weird noise.
"A-ah!" Jacob yelped with surprise his eyes wide.
"The fuck? You okay?" Oliver asked in confusion, unaware of what just happened.
Jacob shut his eyes and laid his head back down on the hard floor, panting. Jacob had totally forgot about the game and so did Oliver. Oliver tried to figure out what was up with his friend, was he okay? Oliver squirmed a bit trying to get comfortable again when Jacob let out a low groan and placed his wrist on his eyes. He bit his lip as if trying to forget something. Oliver just stared at him again. Completely oblivious of the situation, Oliver tried to feel what the hard, pokey thing under him was. He gently brushed his hand against the hard object. That's when he figured it out, he fucked up. He fucked up really bad.
"Oh shit." Oliver whispered his eyes wide and his breathing ragged.
He quickly got up and took a few steps back staring at his friend. Shit, shit, shit, shit. Was all he could think at that moment. Jacob quickly sat up as well and covered his face with his hands. He took a deep breath and sighed.
"I-I... I didn't know, I'm so sorry." Oliver mumbled as he looked down at his feet.
Jacob didn't reply and just sat there staring at the screen that showed Boo in last place. He chuckled a little but then began to laugh loudly. He smiled and stood up avoiding Oliver's gaze. He walked past Oliver to the door and harshly bumped into his shoulder purposefully as he muttered something under his breath,
"Fucking gay faggot..."
Oliver stood there too stunned to speak. He clenched his fists hearing his door shut behind him. He stood there in the room, alone. Normally, on a normal day, either Oliver or Jacob would be celebrating who won. Having fun, like normal friends. But things weren't normal. Oliver and Jacob may never be able to hang out like that. That may have been the last time they were able to smile at each other without a worry in their minds. Oliver felt tears threaten to fall down from his eyes. He roughly wiped them away and began cursing at himself.
"It's my fault. It's all my fucking fault."
