Akuma was born in Mexico, his parents wanted a better life for all of them so at the age of 10 they moved to Louisiana in the United States. Having to work hard to just make it by. At the age of 18, Akuma took interest in voodoo arts. Keeping it a secret due to the fear of people judging. They fell in love with a beautiful girl named Elizabeth Carver, that love ended up bitter sweet when Akuma's father had negative ties with a near by gang owning debt to them. That gang ended up killing all of Akuma's family and girlfriend. Causing them to go into an murderous spiral. Becoming a serial killer, killing the bad who deserved it. Making voodoo dolls off the victims they killed. Once they were caught after 20 years of killing, they were executed by a firing squad.
Once in hell a burning rage built up in him. Targeting lower sinners or hellbornes for their souls, claiming them. They craved more and more power taking down overlords one by one till he became one of the stronger overlords in hell.
Though picking fights always comes with repercussions... Picking a fight with Alastor wasn't a great idea, ended up losing his arm and got slashed across the eye due to it. Though the two ended up being best friends. Though this made Akuma feel defeated, so the crave of power happened more and more. So they began their spree again.... Though encountered Lilith down the line, who forcefully made a deal with Akuma and owned his soul. To protect Charlie and help out at the hotel. Now he craves freedom and redemption... So he doesn't have to be part of this dumb curse of having his soul own... After all... They want power not weakness.
