"In an incredible turn of events in the most recent centuries, it is without a doubt one of the most important the mobilization of aid. It is one of the greatest feats, being able to bring capable, and quick witted people to the aid of the ones that need it. And though there are a variety of things that could bring you to need medical attention, it is most important that there is someone who can help you.

In this chapter we will-"

Blah blah blah, introduction to the chapter...god I hate the introduction...ah here it is, the actual material.

"-Though it is a turn in Japan in the most recent centuries. As such we are constantly changing the ways in which we mobilize aid. To start with there are many-"

"Hey! Has anyone seen the new hire?"

Pulled from his book, Yatoma looked up at his description, "Huh? Yeah, that's me, I'm right here."

The eyes of the supervisor fell on him, and she smiled, "Hello, I'm Katsuya, the one who processed all your information. The systems have verified all of your data, so it looks like you're good to go! Your training will start tomorrow, as long as that works for you!"

Yatoma lit up, though he attempted to keep his excitement level and professional, "Good to hear, and yes I'm ready to start immediately. So I'm officially a team member?"

"Yes! Your hands on EMS tech, Sakusa, is out for the night, but as of right now, you're all set! Thank you for taking the time tonight to fill out all the paperwork." The woman, Katsuya, handed a copy of the thick stack of papers he had spent hours filling out earlier.

Yatoma nodded, "Of course."

"The only thing you'll need is your official EMS identification card so you can get to the right areas without help tomorrow. I've already started the printing process, so you should be able to get it in a few minutes." Katsuya walked over to the desk, grabbing a couple of papers and stacking them, before using the edge of the desk to tap tap tap them into place, "And here is some information to help with the on-boarding process, which I hope you will be able to fulfill on such short notice."

Yatoma took a quick glance at the papers. Social etiquette, no bullying, and as always at the top of the stack of every place he had applied to, dresscode. Somehow all of these places always had the dress code at the top of the stack. Maybe it was a coincidence. On the bright side, at least this one hadn't circled 'Zero tolerance policy for facial piercings!'. That had been pretty awkward.

Yatoma attempted to keep a level facial expression, "It'll be no problem," he bowed, "I appreciate your help."

Katsuya smiled, bowing back. If she had intentionally stacked the papers that way, she made no indication of such, "We're glad to have you, Yatoma!"

After finally collecting his papers, showing where to go the following morning, and all the introductions, Yatoma was able to leave, sighing with relief as he stepped out of his new job.

"I did it," he whispered, the solace seeping through his voice, "I fucking did it."

He didn't need to say it, obviously, but there was something so different from thinking it versus saying it. As his words left him, so did some of the tension in his shoulders, the anxious fog in his brain, and his nervous fidgets. This wasn't all, of course. He had way more to do, a whole list of things to collect and check off before he was finally done, all of the adult stuff he had to do. But this was one of the big ones, and it was finally complete.
