My alarm rang, it's time to get ready for another day of school, I stretched and opened my curtains. It may seem strange, but every morning I love waking up for school. I wake up before anyone else in the morning, so I can have some peace to myself.

I got ready for school then I woke my brother up for school, he's 10 years old, he's the only one that actually treats me like a normal human being in this horrid house.

"Good morning sunshine! It's time for school my little baby brother."

B/n - "I'm not a baby anymore Y/n!"

"Well you are to me. Now get up you are going to be late, you already pressed snooze like twice."

He groaned and got out of bed, he had a crazy bed hair. I chuckled as I rushed quietly downstairs, to the kitchen to get myself a pop tart. Not exactly an ideal breakfast to me, but it's what I can get right now without being late.

I took out my phone, my lock screen was my father, it was him holding me when I was a little girl, every time I looked at it I couldn't help but tear up. My step father had demanded every picture and portrait of my real dad in the house, needs to be taken down because he felt "threatened" by it for some reason. I only have a few photos on my phone.

I really do miss my dad. I loved him so much, I really did and I still do. Not a day goes by where I don't think of him or miss him. I checked the time and I had realized I had gotten lost in my thoughts. I grabbed my bag and rushed out the door. I used the shortcut to school.

I don't take the bus, my mom and my step father don't exactly care to drive me to school either. I like taking walks like this, it's peaceful. It's still pretty dark. It's 6:10 In the morning. I like taking my time walking. School starts at 8:30, I usually make it there early, so I have time to talk to my friends.

I hummed a tune while walking through the dark path. Fall had already started, the leaf's changed beautifully, some red, some orange and some both. I admired the beauty that I saw in front of me.

there was an alley, I hated walking by that thing. It always creeped me out. I never saw anything there but this time, I noticed something in the corner of my eye, it caught my attention because of its strange color.

I turned my head around to look at it. It was a deer, but it didn't have a brown coat, like every deer does. It had bright glowing eyes that looked like they were going to consume me. I backed up quickly, this deer had a red coat, I couldn't get a closer look at it because it disappeared within a second.

It startled me. I ran as quickly as I could and could feel my heart racing. What the fuck was that thing?!

Time skip*

I had gotten to school much quicker than I had intended. I ran towards my friends.

"YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE WHAT I SAW!"

Evangeline -"Girl what happened? You look horrible!"

"Do I?!"

She pulled out her perfume and started spraying it all over me.

Evangeline -"Your hair is messed up and you kind of smell sweaty."

She started combing and fixing my hair, so it can look cleaner.

"Yeah no shit, I was running from a creepy ass deer. I am not lying when I say it had red fur and eyes that were glowing, it looked terrifying."

Cassie - "Do you realize how crazy you sound right now?"

"I'm not making it up!"

Evangeline -"Don't worry so much, maybe it was just your imagination. Besides something exciting is coming up!"

"What is it?"

Evangeline and Cassie looked at each other smiling then looked back at me.

Cassie -"Y/n! Did you really forget your birthday is in 3 days?!"

Oh. I had forgotten about it completely, I was way too busy finishing all my homework, then going home cleaning, then cooking myself something to eat, some days I had to go to work.

"I guess I was so busy it slipped my mind."

Cassie -"Don't overwork yourself. You're doing your best right now, that's all that matters."

She pat my back and gave me a smile.

"Right, I will try to take it easy."

I weakly smiled back at her.

The bell rang, which means school has now finally started. I made my way to my first period class. Luckily, I had almost every single class with Cassie and Evangeline.

The entire day, I could not stop thinking about that deer and the way it stared at me. Everything about it was just creepy. My heart would race out of fear every time I thought of it. Whatever that was I hope I will never come in contact with it again.
