As the thunder roared through the sky, the rain became heavier. My dog, Cordelia, starts panicking whenever the floors made a click sound. I laughed it off. Suddenly the lights went off.
Del became crazy.
"Calm down, Del. I'll go get a torch."
Del hid behind the curtains.
"Come on, Del, you scaredy-cat, come out."
Del refused.
"Whatever, I'll go to the kitchen to get a torch."
When I returned, Del was nowhere to be found.
"Del?"
No answer...
"Cordelia?"
The floor made a click sound.
"So there you are!"
I turned around and saw Cordelia lying lifelessly on the floor.
Suddenly I heard the click sound behind me approching...
