HOMECOMING. In which the sought after hunter/Lamia returns to the warmth of her home with Zayne.
_ _ _
"I'll see you later, Xav." the hunter partners parted ways at the station, the senior riding away swiftly on his bike, while the junior willed her legs to move. She had long been overcome with fatigue and exhaustion. It was understandable considering they had just been battling against a horde of deepspace creatures. Between her and the next luminivore she runs into, Lamia wasn't sure who would be obliterated first. The mere sight of one might lead her to spontaneously combust. Needless to say, she was sick of protocores and protofields.
All she wished to do now was take a nice warm bath and melt into her couch—the very one she and Zayne had set their eyes on when they visited the local IKEO.
Zayne.
Speaking of him, the woman remembered she had yet to inform the man of her operation's success. It was a day off for him, a rare occurrence, so she didn't wish to bother him in case he went out of his way again. She figured, she'd tell him she was already on the train first.

"How did you-?"
"I have my ways." He didn't seem willing to answer, instead focusing on removing the weight of the bag on her shoulder and taking her hand to gently lead her to the vehicle.
Lamia was momentarily stunned by his arrival before she sighed in understanding and familiarity, melting into the warmth of their hands enclosed together. Regardless of what others said or what his Evol was, Zayne was always warm. "You certainly do."
He opened the door to passenger's side, waiting until she had sat comfortably before shutting it. Then, he slid into the driver's seat and started the engine. They sat in silence for a while. As he carefully stole glances, he noted the weariness in her features. It made him slightly frustrated with her workplace for not giving her enough opportunity to rest. But he understood that it was a childish notion to wish all workers were treated well. It didn't help that his fiancée was partners with the most sought-after hunter there.
Speaking of him, Zayne owed Xavier a favour for the occasional updates, and finally for not telling Lamia that he was on his way. The latter was surprisingly polite and understanding as he repeatedly express that he did not wish to get in the way of their relationship. Zayne could respect her working partner for that.
Though, he was dissatisfied with how haggard she looked. Of course, she was still very beautiful and far triumphed the most famous supermodels and stars, but she seemed... thinner?
"Have you had something to eat?" he inquired, her attention returning to the moment, and returning to him.
