It's the year 2005, 10 years ever since Y/N was strangely let off by their work. Not for personal or entirely work purposes either. The reason was still unknown, but for all Y/N knew, on that fateful day when they called in sick, their coworkers disappeared. No one in the factory that day was able to inform Y/N of what truly happened that day, so it'll forever be a mystery to them.

Y/N entered their sweet home with a bag of groceries, unlocked the front door and went inside. Their dog, Summer, was running and barking at them to be fed. Y/N just put their things down and pet their dog.
Y/N was mute for more than a decade, first becoming so after a freak accident back at their old job in Playtime Co. when heavy cargo hit them in the head hard when they were fresh out of college with their first job. Y/N was such an intelligent student that they were given the privilege to skip many grades and graduate all 4 years of college at just 19 years old. However, ever since they lost their voice it's been clear that work was gonna be harder without it.
But now Y/N has to live with the fact that there's nothing that they could do except think things and imagine conversations with people.
Y/N filled a bowl with dog kibble in it, and gave it to Summer who gladly ate it all. Y/N then flopped onto their couch in the living room and stared up at the wall. It was filled with certificates, awards, and even a picture of most Playtime Co's employees with one of them holding a picture of the first founder of the factory, Elliot Ludwig. It was supposed to be a tribute to him and the fact that he wasn't alive to witness the factory hire upon a genius into the wondrous workforce. Y/N was told that Ludwig would've been happier than anything in the factory itself if he got a chance to meet them in person.
Y/N (in their mind): "I need to get my head out of that factory. It's been a decade. But... that was the only job I seemed to be good at, until now."
Y/N was excellent at their job back at Playtime Co., it made them feel special and wanted, until it was abandoned. Ever since their first unemployment Y/N lost any and all motivation to put any effort into their other jobs, thus getting them fired over and over again.
Soon Summer began to bark again as a letter slipped through the mail slot of the door. Summer picked it up and brought it over to Y/N, who got up and sat on the table to read the contents inside. It had their address on it, but another address that Y/N never thought they'd see again.
Sent from Playtime Co.
Y/N opened the letter to reveal a note that when opened it had a bit of bloodstain on the bottom left corner as well as a flower drawn. The note read as followed:
Everyone thinks the staff disappeared 10 years ago.
We're still here.
Find the Flower.
Y/N: "The flower? What flower?"
Summer then came up and down a vhs tape in front of Y/N. Y/N picked it up and then remembered their family's old vhs player. They grabbed it from their closet, rebooted it, and put the tape inside.
The tape played a really old commercial for Playtime Co.'s most well known doll, Poppy. She was a project that Y/N wished they could've taken part in, but of course Y/N was barely 5 when it was first being made and they weren't even employed yet. But then at the end of the commercial it showed an area of the factory in which it had a big flower mural.
Y/N looked back-and-forth between the tv screen and the note.
Find the Flower. It makes sense now!
But... what was waiting for them there? Or rather... who?
Y/N still felt terrible, both emotionally and as a gut feeling. Maybe this was a bad idea. But what if there were people she knew in there, still alive?
Summer barked and Y/N's attention was brought back. They pet him on the head and decided that it was for the best, and that answers were dying to meet them.
Y/N: "I remember, my old sector in the company. I used to be a technician, then they wanted me to do hands-on work. I was supposed to look over the kids and make toys, but they wanted to get around the areas and complete tasks much easier. So I was sent to work with an assigned team to create this."
Y/N then grabbed something from their closet, it was a backpack like invention in wish it had two plastic-rubber hands, one red and one blue, attached to it that can extend.
Y/N: "My old grabpack! I'm happy to meet you again, ol' girl! Whaddya say? Should we go and do this again almost like the old days?"
Y/N then put on their grabpack and packed some water and snacks. Y/N had Summer on a leash and gave him to their kind landlord, who gladly accepted to take him in until Y/N returned.
Y/N was sure to be back by the end of the day.
Unbeknownst to Y/N however,
this mission was gonna take more than a day,
It was also gonna change their whole lives.
