It's been, what, 3 hours now since they started walking again? The moon shone brightly in the star-filled sky, yet the thick amount of trees covered that faint light source.

The three psychics were treading slower than the others. Consequently, they were a little further ahead of them.

Aiura groaned overdramatically. "UUUGHHH. . . My feet hurt! When are we getting there?" She complained, clinging closely to Kusuo's arm.

"Soon," Saiki repeated for what felt like the millionth time.

Toritsuka therefore got some random flashbacks from that one episode. "Sure is dark! Too bad there ain't any beautiful ladies to jump in my muscular, manly arms!" He boasted.

The fortune-teller ignored the pervert's sly remark and kept hugging Saiki. "Can I jump in your arms, Kusuo?"

"No."

"You're no fun." She pouted.

Kurapika yelled out to them, signifying they finally arrived at the cedar tree.

The six were greeted to a large pine tree, a wooden cabin sitting close to it. They knocked on the door, this being said, no one answered.

Leorio slowly twisted the knob and carefully opened the door. They gasp, seeing a shocking sight.

A strange magical creature was looming over an injured man. The beast had light brown fur and fox-like traits.

"IS THAT A FURRY?" Toritsuka yelled out.

"No, that is a Kiriko. It can take on human form, they are extremely intelligent, "Kurapika corrected. "-What's a furry?-"

Gon quickly announced It had a woman in its grasp. She struggled to break free, but before anyone could take action, the animal swiftly jumped out a window.

Honestly, I could have done something, but whatever.

Gon and Kurapika immediately ran after the Kiriko, while Leorio went to aid the injured man. However, Saiki stopped him.

"Don't waste your time. He's fine."

"What?"

Saiki points at the bloodied man. "That is also a Kiriko."

The wounded individual unexpectedly grinned. "Now, is this not interesting?"

. . .

"Allow us to introduce ourselves!" The Kiriko with the husk voice announced. "We are the navigators. Our family provides support for the Hunter Exam."

"I'm their daughter!" the girl with purple hair and strange facial markings introduced.

"I'm their son," added the male with blue hair.

"You sure had us fooled." Leorio sighed.

Who's us?

"They relocate the exam site to keep things interesting, so they hire navigators like us to help guide worthy applicants to the examination site!" continued the magical beast with the squeakier voice.

"But, don't get the wrong idea. We don't help every candidate! We test them to see if they're even qualified to take the exam."

The creatures started to list down positive traits about Gon and Kurapika, until they reached Leorio, who was standing nervously.

"Mister Leorio!"

He jumped in surprise. "Yes?"

"You sir, unfortunately never realized I was not who I claimed to be. However, you quickly jumped into action to dress my wounds. Unfortunately, mister Kusuo stopped you, so I was not capable of deducting much. . . Nonetheless, you pass!"

Leorio huffed in relief at the kiriko's explanation.

"Now, mister Kusuo. Hell, I don't know how you did it. . . It's like you read my mind, honestly! You managed to conclude that I was not who I seemed to be in a matter of seconds. I am very impressed, you pass!"

Gon gave Kusuo a knowing smirk, which he acknowledged with a "zip it" glare.

Soon, they turned their attention to the two other psychics, likewise, tension occupied the atmosphere. The expressions of the examinees turned grim.

I think everyone knew what was going to be reported.

Good grief, the things I must do for those little shits. . . Saiki heaved out a sigh, simultaneously carefully pulling out one of his limiters.
