Chapter 5: Night of terror

After the Regent had heard the attacks. They thought the Prince has captured again and this time he prepared to suppress all of his ministers and several notable aristocrats that supported the Crown Prince's program. he believed by this purge, the Prince has no loose ends considering his policies made several people had supported him and several ministers had appreciate his job aswell

"Since the attacks is all of sudden... We believe that the Prince has gone and this time... I demanded you to finish the rest.... No loose ends" said The Regent to several young officers

These Young officers were the pioneers of the Sakurakai and ultranationalist thinkers about what should they do to save the Empire as a whole by purging his supporters to remove loose ends and by the Slogan "Revere the Emperor, Destroy the traitors"

"But my Regent... Why all so sudden?" Ask one Young officer

The Regent answered
"After Day one.... Proceed to day two.... Which is the terror shall begin..."

Without asking. The young officer had understand about the entire command

The attacks has been initiated. 3 divisions within the capital has prepared by the order of the Regent (disguised as the Shogun) and the captain from the 1st garrison itself. As the time strikes midnight.... The purge hours begin, each garrison had 3 divisions each have their own targets, in total theres 7 people (4 ministers and 3 aristocrats) both labeled as traitors by conspiracing against the state.

Midnight has arrived.... The city is nothing than just a snowstorm... Like every nights... Its peace and quiet but this time.... Theres marches of the Sakurakais that is haunting in the dark for their victims each... 7 statesman out of 3 aristocrats and 4 ministers....

During the strike on the 1st target (minister), he had known there was someone attacking his house because their security guards had been shot dead.

As he quietly walks outside to the fence but he was caught by his wife resulted he was almost get shot but lucky enough.. he was able to escape to his neighbouring house... But unfortunately due to confusion they ended up executing his assistant since both of them were similar

The second target (minister) meanwhile has another story... But this time he was hiding in his closet and he was Aided by his wife and daughter, but his brother unfortunately was killed due to the same reason which is confusion in the dark

The 3rd target's (minister) story of assault is all of sudden his door was knocked by the Sakurakai soldiers that was designated to kill him in any chance. But they were disguise as regular troops and pretend if he was ordered to see the regent

"What is it?" Ask the targeted minister
"You were told to met the regent" said one soldier

He looks around and ordered him to wait outside so he could prepare himself, but those soldiers refuse to do so. Pissed off, ge smack one of the soldiers and by chance when he was returning to the front door, he was shot many times... Everyone in the house was horrified about what happened....

The 4th target (aristocrat) meanwhile during his wife and his daughter woke up when someone was waiting in front of his house, his daughter approached her mother that time... When the mother opens the door. The Sakurakai soldiers that was designated to attack the targeted aristocrat was halted and said that they had something to do with his husband (which is the target of course)

"My husband is still sleeping. Come here in the morning!" Said his wife defending him

The Sakurakai soldiers doesn't care and they breach the house. His daughter couldn't do nothing than watching his father die... And as he breaches the room, he figured it out that his target had defended himself by flipping his fūton (a type of bed that is placed on the floor) and a gun to barricade himself. But he still was able to shoot him down by a machine gun without wasting chances

The fifth target (aristocrat) was a loud breach. After they assaulted the house. His daughter had prepared to call her neighbours but the Sakurakai soldiers had sabotaged the phone line and they were rushed to strangle her while the executor was able to locate their rooms and prepare for everything

"You can't kill father! Kill me instead!" Said her by demanding them if she wants her father alive even costing her own life

The targeted aristocrat wokes up and asked

"Who are you and what are you doing here?!"

Two young officers had arrived on the scene and while one is still freezing prepare his katana, the second one arrived and aim his gun pointing his face and screaming "Divine punishment!!"

After that shout, he was shot many times as he couldn't no longer woke up from his bed

The 6th target (aristocrat) was similar but instead it was his wife who was demanded to replace him by herself as the target. But still, he was shot dead by their executors, even she was cried hoping that she is just wanna die aswell... Their executors do nothing but saluting their own victims....

And lastly the 7th target (minister) was kinda hard because there were a lot of security guards and they were ended up in confrontation, while they were still fighting, their squad leaders had entered the house snd secure it. The minister itself has been hold captive and he was asked if he was the designated minster

After he answered the correct name. He ordered his assistant to kill him off. Even his wife had ordered to stop all of this madness but fate still didn't change......

"Why .. why did you do this?!" Ask his wife

"For the sake of this nation...." Said the commanding officer

"Please stop.... Please stop this... No more..." His wife demands it

As such the commanding officer saluting the dead because of his wife's demise and also.... Surprisingly the commanding officer had good relations with his designated target before

At 0400 hours... The Regent had earned information if all of the designated targets has been purged.

"All targets has been removed my regent" said the leading comamnder

"Excellent.... now... I'll go through this negotiations to fulfill our plans..." Said the Regent

And so he prepared his "Shogun" outfit to make sure his myth of "The Shogun" isn't a lie and also to convince everyone that he is the enemy of the state that terrorize all of this.
