No One's POV

On Copper 9, we see a broken escape pod with 4 entity signatures nearby. These entities are revealed to be Serial Desgnations A, E, F, and Z.

Serial Designation A's POV

I wake up suddenly, a horrible chill going down my nonexistent spine. Something is going to happen today, and it's not the blizzard outside our corpse spire. Looking over at our drop pod, I can see how badly we landed. It's shattered hull, making it look as though a kraken crushed it within its tentacles, that things not going anywhere anytime soon. Turning to see the others, E (a female model) and F (a male model) are both still asleep, and Z (a scientific female model) is up.

A: What time... is it?

I say that aloud, I should have expected I wouldn't get an answer so I look at the time, 20:01, I still wonder why our squad was programed with military time but no one here seems to question it. Finally unhooking my tail I drop to the ground, it's necessary to check how much oil we have in storage and I know Z wouldn't be bothered seeing as he managed to capture a worker drone recently.

Time skip (1 hour)

After checking the oil and confirming we have at least 4 days of rationing, I go back to the main area to see Z and F talking, so I go up to interact with them.

Z: All I'm saying is that i could improve your tail acidic properties

F: And I'm not risking it until we get a go-ahead from high command

At this point, I'm in range to talk, and F notices me.

F: Well, it's nice to see one face that's not completely insane. What we're you doing?

A: Checking our oil reserve, we have 4 days if we ration it out

Z: Oh no... my weather instruments were saying this blizzard isn't going anywhere for at least 5 or 6 days. What do you do now then?

F: Unless we can accept a loss or two, there is nothing we can. This blizzard is too powerful for us to hunt, and there is an unlikely chance any of the workers are out either

A: I'll go. If there is even a chance I can come back with more oil, it's better than just leaving you guys to burn, and it'll extend the rations to 5 days. Maybe 6.

F: No! I refuse to lose a member just because they want to play hero for us

A: Then you'll have to stop me from trying...

And with that, I'm off, wings extend from both F and myself, and we head towards the front of the spire, I'm hit by the storm almost instantly. I can feel the cold biting at wires and parts, but due to not actually taking any of the oil from reserves earlier I'm still incredibly hot to the touch so most of it just melts on contact. Looking back I can see F stopped just inside the spire with a hand held outwards, I can't hear him but I think he wanted me to return, not happening, not without another jug of oil.

Time skip (3 hours)

My initial heat surge and technical cold protection are waning, and I still haven't found one of those blasted toasters. A sudden surge of pain shoots through me, searching for the source it would seem the melted snow hit one of my movement systems. My left leg isn't working. This is quickly followed by another surge of pain as my right arm malfunctions change into a gun and unloading as well as me spotting a pair of glowing yellow eyes in the distance. I start to head towards the eyes. It could be another disassembly drone.

Unknown siren entity's POV

I was tasked by The Empress III with watching this random machine until it broke down and inserting a silver wisdom cube into it. It's not my job to question orders, but I remember Tester Beta being confused by my task. Shots being fired brought me back to alertness, I witnessed the machine unload a firearm into the ground and realize he spotted me. As the drone started heading towards me, I witnessed his systems continue to break down. First, one of his lights went off from the top, and his left arm went limp. Half of his visor went rainbow. And finally he drops, just meters from me. I approach the broken machine while grabbing the silver cube and place it upon its back.

A's POV

I felt myself shut down and now sit in an empty black void. Looking around, I can see the area start filling with a small layer of water. This initially concerns me to no end as I jump up, the I see it, a transparent glowing silver cube. I start moving towards it, being as cautious as I can while looking at it, making sure there's no traps or anything. When I'm finished making sure that I'll be fine, I reach down to touch it. The moment I grab it, it emits a blinding flash. As soon as I can see again, I'm shocked to my core as I look at a version of myself that has been altered by technology that is foreign to me, and yet there I stand...

???: And so we meet, my dearest alter

A: Alter? Who are you?

???: I am he who remains from a terrible fate, but I am here to give you an option. Place the cube to your chest, and you'll wake up to a new adventure away from Copper 9 or hand the cube to me, and you can rest here never to see another soul.

A: Why give me this supposed chance?

???: Because where I failed, you can prevail. And because eternity is boring, I'd rather do anything, but stand here forever

A: Then... will I ever see my fellow drones again?

???: That I do not know, I'm sorry

A: I shouldn't have expected you to know, but thank you for answering

And with that, I place the cube against my chest, a brief surge of both pain and relief shoot over me, and then, I black out.

Author: If this doesn't make sense, I apologize, I don't make stories and wanted a story where a disassembly drone goes to Azur Lane, and no one else has made one yet, so... I figured why not, I'll wing it.
