The ocean lay calm, desolate, waiting for a ship to sail across or a dolphin to emerge and dive in again. You could never tell just what to expect from the sea, those who sailed on ships could attest to that with a blindfold on.
One ship that frequented the depths of the blue was owned by none other than the pirates, they flowed with the waters through the seven seas, all the way through the enchanted woods and as far as the realms would allow. It was a day like they'd all seen time and time again, nothing noteworthy to any who knew the sea. Yet something was different, otherwise there would be no story.
The captain of this ship, had been keeping his ship away from the danger zones, the waves would be particularly sharp in the morning hours, not to mention those who lay below them. His spyglass had been trying to allow their course forward. Seeing nothing of note to hold up the journey.
A wave came from the east and left a thud against the ship, an irregularity drew the captain's attention to that wave. Leaning over the railing, then a second later throwing his jacket and gear to the deck and diving in. The crew ran over from all ends of the boat, unsure of the madness ensuing.
Fighting through the waters to get to the lost girl, barely holding on as she floats past, the captain managed to grab her, holding her above the waves. The crew had dropped a lasso for him to grab to be pulled up. Swinging his legs over the rails, laying the girl down gently, to empty the water from her lungs. Meanwhile some of the crew had started whispering. Allowing this girl aboard could be trouble, though it was the captain's call and they wouldn't question his orders.
