The Symbol of Fear

There was darkness. Through the darkness pierced a sound, a voice. At first a faint whisper, the calming voice pulled you from the black. You heard a song. A lullaby perhaps? The voice was calming, familiar, and homely. Your mother's voice.

You awoke, teary eyed and feeble. A plastic tube of fluid pierced your arm. You had to hydrate or diedrate, and luckily someone was there to hydrate you. Your mother sang as she pulled a brush through your hair. A hairbrush (A brush for brushing hair for non-americans 😜). She smiled as she saw your eyes open.

"Hey, you. You're finally awake." She smiled as tears formed in her eyed. She grabbed your hand in hers. "It's good to see you." A tear fell down her cheek. "I thought..." A tear fell down her cheek. "I thought I'd lost you."

"All Might" You said weakly. Your mother didn't matter, you had to get at that sweet One For All taint.

"I know, Honey." Your mother said. She'd seen those sweet abs, she knew exactly how you ached for him (she didn't though because she's old 🤢).

The door to your hospital room swung open as a man in scrubs walked in. "Well well well, it looks like you're awake."

"Doctor Rick Douglas M.D.!" Your mom said excitedly. "You're back so soon?"

"Well I'm doing overtime." The Doctor sighed. "This place can't run without me."

"This damn dark place..." Your mother swore. "Honey, this is Doctor Rick Douglas M.D., my new boyfriend. He's been taking care of you."

"You're mighty strong for a woman, most people would've died by now, especially without putting on makeup all this time." Doctor Douglas sat on the end of your hospital bed. "Luckily you had me around to help, well that and some form of regeneration and or death defying ability." Douglas and your mother laughed, you only managed a weak chuckle. "We don't quite know why you were able to survive, but you should know..." Dr. Douglas handed you a piece of paper you were too weak to hold on your own, so your mother took it and held it for you.

A newspaper that read "All Might is Evil Now. The Symbol of Peace is now the Symbol of fear, some site losing his partner as a potential reason." You gasped for air. Not him! Not your lover. All Might would never... would he?

"I know it's a lot to swallow..." Dr. Douglas said, his burly shoulders tensed from a long day's work. "But it seems your boyfriend losing you was too much for him. He's evil now. Even though he was once a symbol of hope... now he's a symbol of fear."

"I need... to see him." You mustered up the strength to speak as tears welled in your eyes.

"Careful, you're still weak." Your mother said. "You can't go anywhere just yet. You're still weak."

"Not for long." Another figure strode into the hospital room. Clad in all white.

"Pope Francis?" Your mother asked.

"I forsook that name long ago, you can call me... Popeman." Popeman smiled. "I've taken to being a hero. The Lord's power flows through me, let me show you what I mean." Popeman's face tensed, tears formed in his eyes and he used all of his might (AN: lol like all might I didn't even realize until now 😝) and summoned before him a humanoid figure. The semi-translucent man was clad in a toga or a robe, you couldn't quite tell, upon his head was a crown of thorns, and his palms had a whole removed from them. It was Popeman's quirk, a Stand called Jesus Christ Superstar, a stand with the power to heal.

"My Stand, Jesus Christ Superstar, can heal you. But only if you eat this snack cracker and drink this lean." Popeman produced the aforementioned items. A communion wafer and communion sizzurp. You downed the concoction and wafer with renewed fighting spirit you didn't know you had.
