The front door had opened. A pretty tall woman with dark brown hair and glasses stepped in with her purse hanging on her right shoulder - a stranger.
Although she wasn't a house member, she seemed familiar with the place.
She looked at the kitchen door (from where singing could be heard), nervous, the she said "Excuse me, darling, could you come here?"
The person singing could've been seen through a tiny window of the kitchen door. They tried to hide when they've heard the woman.
"I didn't intend to scare you. I don't think you remember me." the lady said. "I'm Miss Lees."
The door opened, revealing a pale girl with blonde curly hair and braids that were covering her eyes. She was wearing a blue dress and black tights. A white blindfold was tied to her hand.
Miss Lees offered her a warm smile, but she responded only with a cold face. The girl tied the blindfold over her eyes and then approached the lady.
"I'm sorry, but I do not recognise you." she said.
Her whispered voice sounded like she had no emotion or even soul. Still, her presence didn't scare Miss Lees. It actually made her happy.
"I'm a middle-aged woman that always wears glasses and has brown hair, and little K spoke to me with a lot of respect, even though she doesn't recognise me anymore." The lay said. "Mrs. Eleanor..." the girl whispered. "Why are you here?"
"Darling, it's because of the tragedy that had happened to your parents. I had to make sure you two are alright." She explained. "From where do you know?" The girl asked. "I was one of the closest friends of your mother's. You probably don't remember this because you were pretty young when we were still hanging."
The girl looked down. Mrs. Eleanor put her hand on her shoulder and then said: "Wanna talk about it?" I know that it isn't easy, Katherine. You can talk to me if you feel the need to."
Katherine nodded her head and, after, invited her to sit together on the couch, where their discussion would continue.
"How's your brother feeling?" Elranor asked. "Doesn't he want to come to see me again?"
"No..." Katherine whispered.
I hesitated, she told herself. I'm becoming good at this, but still, it's not enough. He surely figured out that I know he's there.
While all of those thoughts were running through her head, her face was still like stone. Her brother was listening to their talk without any thought of coming down, in the living room, and joining them. He preferred to only watch. You could hardly see a silhouette behind the railing on the second floor.
His interest in their conversation quickly faded, so he left. He thought to himself that that person was not that important to get his attention, but he was lying. He was lying to himself. He hasn't seen a person entering the house for way too long.
