"Hello?"

"Hello?"

My voice echoed off invisible walls. After what seemed to be hours, I heard a sweet, soft voice far off into the distance.

"Hello? Who's there?"

"Lizca, Lizca Scalare."

"Now, where have you been? We've been waiting for you!" A new voice, gruff and humorous, bellowed in the distance.

The place, once void of light and setting, suddenly burst into light and beauty. It was a tall palace; the ceiling itself seemed to stretch on for miles. There were windows everywhere letting in what little light there was from outside. The floor was a crystal white, with iridescent colors flashing in its depths. The palace was decorated with vegetation; some the likes of which I have never seen before. A few meters or so away was a crystal throne, decorated with vines. Sitting on top of it was a dragon...but not like the ones from storybooks. To its left was a creature that looked like a tapir, but it was standing on its hind legs, like a person, and it was wearing a brown coat and tan shorts.

The dragon sat on the crystal throne, which was just big enough to hold the dragon while it was standing. The body of this animal looked like a Komodo dragon, only with a longer neck and its body was sleeker and less bulky than the Komodo. It had wings like the storybook dragons, and it looked exactly like any the pictures, but instead of a large, lumbering beast, it was only about the size of large lion.

Her voice was the one I had first heard, quiet and soft.

"Welcome Lisca. Welcome to the land of Chisia."

"Oh, I welcome you alright." A noise revealed something in the darkness, etching forward, moving.

"Welcome you to your one way trip to the next life."

The room seemed to chill at the sound of the dark words uttered by an unknown man.

The tapir sneered a pulled out a dagger from his coat.

"Show yourself, you beast." He growled.

Suddenly, a dagger was thrown at the tapir's, knocking his own out of his hand. In the same split second, another was thrown at my chest. My heartbeat increased and I couldn't seem to move.

"No!"

I woke with a start, looking around me. I was in my bed, light shining through the window onto my face. My hands were shaking under the covers and I felt pale and shaken, a cold sweat enveloping my body.

"Bad dream?"

I looked over, eyes only moving to the side, (my head still on the pillow for fear of her seeing my pale face) to see my sister sitting on her bed, watching me. Her brown eyes stared into mine. She had a red t-shirt on, with blue denim jeans. Her amber hair was pulled up into a bun, with a curl falling over her ears on either side of her head. I nodded my head, but it just seemed to weigh more than usual.

"It's 7:00. Go back to sleep."

"Then why are you awake?" I asked with a yawn.

"Because I have to go to work soon, " she said this with a tone that was meant to say duh as her eyes gleamed with blantant humor, "now go back to sleep."

My eyes drooped as my head dropped back onto my pillow. Against my own will, my eyes closed and I fell into a dreamless sleep. My dream all but forgotten.

I woke to the sound of my phone buzzing on the dresser along with my favorite ringtone- the Kim Possible theme. It's noise beckoned my attention. I looked at the screen and it read:
