Before you start, I just want to say **I DONT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS EXCEPT FOR JENNIFER.** I wish I had a Lee Pace, but alas I do not. So anyways, in the hopes that my last statement wasn't super creepy, I hope you enjoy! :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I sighed as I draped my coat over a chair in my tiny apartment kitchen. The last few weeks had been crazy with interviews and events with my boss, the one and only Lee Pace. Though all the events for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug were amazing, all the excitement was taking its toll on me. I loved every minute of it, but there was still a lot of work and stress involved. I was too tired to move from where I stood at the kitchen counter, my elbows propped against the top. That's how I got to reminiscing when I first met Lee...
The whining tone of my alarm clock echoed through my room as usual flashing the time; 6:00am. I slammed my hand down on the snooze button. "It can't be morning already." I thought sleepily, wishing I could sleep the rest of the day. I drifted in and out of sleep, repetitively hitting the snooze button. Finally about 20 minutes later, I dragged myself out of bed and ran across the cold, wood flooring to the bathroom. "Too early..." I moaned under my breath, rinsing my face with icy cold water. I quickly snatched a towel and wiped my face.
Fashion was never my strong point, but I wanted to look nice and neat to meet the famous Lee Pace, the man who was to be my new boss. I walked back toward my room to find a suitable outfit. Pulling out a black pencil skirt, black and white polka dotted blouse, and black ballet flats, I silently wondered if I chose too many black colors.
I soon arrived at the coffee shop where Lee came regularly in the morning. I nervously surveyed my surroundings as I walked in. Seeing that he hadn't arrived yet, I found a small table in the corner and sat down, nervously twisting the end of my blouse.
"Excuse me." A slightly southern, upbeat, but warm voice said from behind me. A tall, masculine figure smiled as he pulled off his sunglasses. I quickly recognized him as the man I had watched multiple movies of all last week. "Are you by any chance, Jennifer Meyer?" He asked politely.
A ding from my phone snapped me out of my daydreaming.
"Hello, my lovely assistant." It read. I smiled stupidly at the screen. My fingers hovered above the screen for a second. "Hello, Mr. Pace."
"Since when did you start calling me "Mr. Pace"?"
"Since just now. What's up?"
"Can you stop by my place? Some of my schedules have been changed and I need your help with something."
I raised my eyebrow in suspicion. What could he possibly need me for at this hour? It was almost midnight and I looked like a complete slob. Even though I had been working for him for almost a year now, I, being the extremely self-conscious person that I am, cared too much about what people thought about my appearance. "Ok. Be there in ten." I replied somewhat reluctantly.
"Sounds good."
I quickly threw on a navy blue hoodie over my worn, gray Arctic Monkeys t-shirt and skinny jeans and pulled on some white converse. I pulled my hair back into a messy bun as I trudged across the room, grabbing my black messenger bag and stuffing some stray papers in it.
As I promised, about ten minutes later I was knocking on Lee's apartment door. It was a much nicer front door than mine. His was a dark walnut color with a small, green stained glass window perfectly centered in the middle. After a moment, I heard his footsteps coming closer to the door. I let out a loud giggle when I heard a crash and him mumble something about his "stupid big feet". The door swung open to reveal a shirtless Lee Pace. The smirk on my face was replaced quickly by a deep blush.
"Hey!" Lee greeted me with a smile. I tried to avoid his gaze as my eyes wandered to his abs. I cleared my throat and met his eyes. "Hey."
Lee looked down. "Oh, sorry." He apologized quickly, noticing how uncomfortable I was. He motioned me inside and grabbed a shirt laying on the couch. "Make yourself comfortable. I-" he paused, pulling his shirt over his face. "Have some hot cocoa that needs drinking."
I tossed my bag on the couch and watched him rummage through a cabinet. "Lee, did you really ask me to come over just to help drink your hot cocoa? I thought you needed 'help'." I said, emphasizing the last word. "Uh, I do need help!" Lee scoffed teasingly. I crossed my arms and walked over to the kitchenette. "With?"
"Drinking hot cocoa."
I shook my head. "Honestly, I don't know what to do with you." I teased.
"For starters, you could keep doing a lovely job as my assistant. Then help me find my mini marshmallows." Lee said with a wink.
