Blade's pov:
I was just looking through the plans for the town renovation when Lightning mind-linked me that they came across a rogue while patroling.
"Is he going to be a problem?"
"I don't think so sis. He looks like a little June could take him on in a fight. His wolf is even smaller than Frisbee's."
I chuckled at that. June just turned ten last week and she is truly a little spitfire. She was one of the neglected Omega pups from Alpha Jason's late pack. After I killed him, his pack was rightfully mine, so I took Deni, Jacob and some of my warriors and headed there. It was like every other pack I have ever been in. The Omegas were all malnourished and few of the pack members were exceptionally cruel to them. I stayed a few days to determine who would be leaving the pack grounds alive and who wouldn't be leaving at all. Around 100 wolves 'sadly' didn't make it.
"What should we do with him Blade? Take him to the cells, or should we kill him on the spot? He is saying that he wandered here by accident and he smells really strange, like an Omega with something sour in his scent."
I was taken aback by that. Omegas rarely found the courage to run away from their packs, but it still occasionally happens. They were natural caretakers and would endure unbelievable torture to stay with those they took care of, so to leave their pack they had to be desperate with no other options, other then death.
"Take him to the cells and tell the guard to give him some dinner. I will look at him tomorrow."
I said and cut the link of. I had too much to do today to stress about a runaway Omega. If everything goes acording to plan, the town will be reconstructed in the next three days and then I will have enough time to worry about the council and new laws. My brothers were also coming over to my quarters for dinner tonight, so I didn't have much time for these documents. With that final thought I went back to work.
--------------------------------
It was already 6 when I came to my dining room for dinner, since I couldn't cook for shit, unless it was some pasta, or in the best case spaghetti, I had one of the pack cooks come over and do some steak and fries. Yes, I could burn even that.
You know, if we will ever find our mate, you better hope he can cook, otherwise we will probably die from food poisoning one of these days.
I heared Storm snicker in my mind. That bitch enjoyed getting on my nerves. It was her favorite hobby, other that dreaming about our mate.
Shut up Storm, I don't see you running around the kitchen, trying to do something good enough to eat.
No, thank you. I enjoy my meat raw and freshly killed.
I rolled my eyes at that and stayed silent. I didn't have the energy to bicker with Storm tonight, when I will have to endure bickering with my brothers for the next two hours.
There was a knock on the door and I went to answer it already knowing who it was.
"Hi lil' sister!" Lightning was grinning ear to ear and hugged me after he entered. After he let go of me it was Frisbee's turn to hug me. I smiled at them both and took them to my dining room.
"It smells great. Did you cook it by yourself?" Frisbee asked with a smirk.
"Don't be silly Bee, we both know that she can't cook to save her live, it was probably one of the cooks." Lightning grinned at him and I scowled at them both.
"You are the one to talk, if I heared correctly, the last time you tried to cook without Ava helping you, you set the stove on fire." He frowned at that but didn't say anything else, it was his one failure as an Omega, he can't cook for shit. Ava was his mate, he found her when he turned 25, when he went on a diplomatic mission to another pack and she is absolutely amazing. She is kind, funny, gorgeous and very pregnant with their first pup. Right now she is seven months along with a little girl and Lightning couldn't be happier. He always wanted a girl, it was his biggest dream.
We took our seats at the table and started chatting, when the topic of mates came up I was, of course, the one they focused on, even though Frisbee was too mateless.
"What do you think your mate will be like Blade? Some strong and powerful Alpha you could fight with all day long?" Lightning snickered. They were both convinced my mate could under no circumstances be an Alpha and I had to agree with them. I was too dominant to pass over all the power I had to some male with ego bigger then his brain.
"I think that her mate will be an Omega. It would make perfect sence. She is dominant, he would be submissive. She is strong, he would be gentle. He could cook...." Frisbee ended the sentence with a devilish grin aimed straight at me. I scowled at him.
"You know what Foxie, I think he is actually right. An Omega would be perfect for you. So why don't we make a bet? If your mate is an Omega you owe us 100$ each, if he is not, then we owe you 100$ each. What do you say?" Foxie is a nickname they gave me when I was around 10, becouse fox was my favorite animal. My actual surname at that time was King, becouse our family absolutly loves being royals. Egoistical shits. I didn't like it and later made my surname Fox.
"Your bet is made on a belief that I will actually find my mate in this lifetime, but sure, why not, you are on." I shrugged at them, at this point I didn't have much faith in finding my mate, but everything is possible.
We spoke for a while longer before they had to leave. We said goodbye to each other and after that, I took a shower and then went straight to bed, thinking about that little Omega prisoner I will be visiting tomorrow.
---------------------------------
"Do you think he will piss himself when he sees you? After all you have the reputation of a skilled killer." Lightning grinned at me the next morning in front of the entrance to the cells. He volunteered to come here with me, in case the little rogue would couse any trouble, not that I couldn't take care of it myself, he was just here to see the show.
"I honestly don't give a shit. I need to get it over quickly, I still have other things to do."
"You are no fun." Lightning sighed at me but complied and went to unlock the door. After he opened them, I was enveloped by the best scent I have ever smelled. It smelled like forest after rain and honey. Storm went crazy at that scent.
MATE!
