Emily's pov:

Why did I even decide to take that job offer? A catering job? Why in the whole world did I think that this would be a better option than just a normal, boring office job? Nevermind. It's too late now anyways.

If you're wondering - YES I am stressed. Why? Because I'm sitting in a plane right now, on my way to work. Yes - I am flying to work. I started to work at a catering company. This company is responsible for the catering of many luxurious events, all over the world. I thought that maybe it would be a nice way to see some new places, but I guess I imagined it to be cooler than it actually was. I already worked as a waitress before - just not on that level. It was just a weekend job I had while I was in school. For this job, there's a whole book I need to study -  how the waiters should behave, the different types of glasses, the different techniques of folding napkins - it's crazy! So yes, I am studying this book right now and I'm realizing, that it might me harder than I thought it would be, but I guess it's a privilege to work anywhere around the world, so I should maybe stop complaining.

I just arrived at the destination and after I got my suitcase, I stepped outside. It was very warm here in Bahrain. I am here for the first Formula 1 race of the season. They decided to let me work at the F1 races. Kinda exciting. My coworker Ava - who is also a good friend of mine - and I made our way to the hotel with a pre-booked transfer.

"Damn. " Ava couldn't believe her eyes. We hade a "room" for us. But the room was built more like a flat. We had two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. "I really love this. I hope the rooms are like this in every country. Not to be mean, but I can imagine that after some time we would get sick of each other without the separate bedrooms" she said. I laughed. She is so right. We had to decide who we want to share our rooms with for the whole season - and for me, personally, it's very important to have some space for myself. Especially after work, my social battery is lower than low, so it's good to have some privacy.

It was already late, and after we ate dinner we just fell asleep right away.

The sun woke me up on the next morning and fully recharged, I decided to go for a run. We don't need to work on the first two days. We can use that time to relax after the long flight, take a look around in the cities or just do whatever we'd like to do. Some time ago I realized how good running made me feel so now I just love to go out for a run and explore new surroundings. It was very warm, but it was worth it. After a few kilometers I saw the race track, some lakes, a golf course and some more hotels. I guess that the very luxurious looking hotels are for the drivers and their teams. I was really impressed, everything was very clean and expensive looking. After I went back to the hotel I didn't do a lot honestly. We went out for drinks in the evening with our co workers. Apart from that, nothing interesting happened.

Two days later we had our first workday. After we checked in at the entry we made our way to the Paddock Club. That's the place we are going to work at. "Could be worse" I thought. The tables and the decorations were breathtaking. Also, the view of the track was stunning. There were already some cars on it and it was really interesting to watch. But sadly, we're not here to watch cars go vroom vroom in circles - we're here to get some work done and make all the super rich people happy with our service!

After the first few hours of working, I realized that I stressed way more about the work than I should've. Most people were really nice and not treating us like shit. At least most of them. I was scared because of all the rules we had to study in the book before but you actually get into it very quickly and now the work is really fun! I was also super happy with my co workers - they are all in their 20s - it makes it much more fun! Of course in front of the guests we had to act professional - but backstage we had loads of fun and were enjoying the good vibes.

Maybe I should start watching Formula 1, looks very interesting to me - especially the drivers if you know what I mean. I just finished my shift and am now on the way out - I actually spotted a few drivers. I mean, I don't know if they really are drivers but they were wearing racing suits - sooo I just assume they are drivers. I saw a man in red, he really got my attention. After realizing that there's going to be plenty of time until the end of the season to stalk the drivers, I made my way back to the hotel. I was really happy that my first day went so good. Satisfied with my performance I fell asleep after a few episodes of a new show on Netflix.
