After our meeting with the boss, I could feel the tension between me and Hazel. It was like our friendship never even existed. But I tried to brush it off and focus on the task at hand.
We both sat down in a small conference room, our minds full of different ideas and approaches. But, as expected, our ideas clashed and we couldn't seem to agree on anything.
"This is useless," Hazel huffed in frustration. "We couldn't even agree on the most basic ideas. This project is going to be a disaster if we can't find a way to work together."
I could see the frustration in her eyes and I felt the same way. But, I also knew that we were both equally determined and passionate about our ideas. We needed to find a way to merge them together and create something that would blow our boss's mind.
"Hazel, I know we have our differences, but we both want what's best for the company. Let's try to compromise and see if we can find a middle ground that works for both our ideas." I suggested.
She looked at me skeptically, but I could see the wheels turning in her head. After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke. "Okay, let's do this. But I warn you, if your ideas ruin this project, don't expect me to help fix it."
I smirked, knowing that deep down, she was just as passionate as me about this project. We both started brainstorming and as we bounced ideas off each other, we started to find ways to combine our ideas in a way that worked for both of us.
It wasn't easy and there were many arguments, but in the end, we came up with a solid plan.
As we left the conference room, I couldn't believe how well we worked together despite our differences. Maybe, just maybe, this project could bring us back to the friendship we once had. Only time would tell.
