The party sits around the campfire watching the flames dance around the firepit. Panagor sits on top of a tree, his huge black wings finally relaxing as he sighs tiredly. Lilith sits by the fire chatting with the small but chaotic child, Jimmy. Lysandria and Candle talk to each other as they stand a bit of a distance from the rest of the party. Kaito and Nox cook at the fire hoping to not burn the food.
A sudden snap of a twig draws the attention of everyone. The party individually takes a stance ready to fight if needed. A man steps out from the trees, his face hidden from the party. His long golden hair flows down his back, illuminated by the firelight. His long pointed ears perk up in a curious and suspicious manner. He removes the hood of his cloak and the party is surprised by the radiant face of a sun elf.
Lysandria freezes up, and her heart drops. She stays silent as the party inquires as to who this elf is. She hopes he does not recognize her. Her hands shake as her heart rate increases, she can't let him find out, she can't let him tell the party the truth. But of course, Lysandria keeps a composed front, she will not show her weaknesses. She has to play this off well.
Everything is a blur for Lysandria and before she knows it the sun elf now revealed to be called Arun joins the party by the campfire. As the night goes on Lysandria can feel his eyes on her. She does not make eye contact with him, she can't look him in the eyes after what happened.
She finally snaps out of her trance when he addresses her by name.
"So Lysandria how has life fared you so far?" He asks in a familiar tone, but Lysandria can feel the anger and bitterness hidden in his voice.
"I am quite well, but I apologize that you speak with too much familiarity for my taste." She says in a calm tone, but of course, Arun can tell she is making a statement for him to back off.
"You two seem to know each other quite well." Candle says in a curious tone, his shining green eyes seem to glow a bit more as he tilts his head.
"Ah yes we have known each other for quite some time, in fact, I was there when she left our homeland, such a Murderously sad day," Arun says with a slight smirk. Lysandria stays quiet as she feels her hands shaking.
"Murderously? What an odd choice of word" Lilith states as she tilts her head in confusion.
"You are too attached to the past Arun...get over yourself" Lysandria snaps. Her voice seems to shake as she tries to hold back her emotions.
"Get over myself?! Get over myself?! How could you say that you...you...I challenge you to a duel of the Seldarine!" Arun screams in rage as the party seems to get up ready to fight if needed.
"Calm down Arun! You know what this duel means...be rational...Think about this! This isn't what Farala would have wanted!" Lysandria says in a panicked manner as she tries to calm down Arun.
"Don't you dare say my sister's name when you're the one who killed her!" Arun screams as he pulls out his longsword, ready to kill.
The party freezes up. Lysandria killed his sister? I mean yes they kill people all the time for the sake of their quests but Lysandria always swore never to kill the innocent or those whose time was not up yet. Why would she kill this guy's sister...
Lysandria flicks her hand and sends Arun flying backward. She can feel the party's eyes on her, she can't take it and she runs. She sprints through the forest tuning out the shouting behind her. After what feels like hours of running she finds a cave and she enters. She collapses to her knees as she breaks down into tears.
Parties POV
"What the hell were you talking about?! What do you mean Lysandria killed your sister?!" Lilith questioned in a panicked tone. She was worried for Lysandria and she wanted to know the truth.
