CHAPTER 5 : FLASHBACK
PART - 2

Joong took a deep breath, holding Dunk's hand tightly as he looked at his mother with hopeful eyes. He knew this moment was crucial. There was no going back. "Mom, Dunk is my boyfriend," he said firmly, his voice filled with love and determination.

Mrs. Aydin's expression froze, and an uncomfortable silence filled the room. Joong felt Dunk's grip on his hand tighten slightly, a silent gesture of support. Dunk, who had always been confident and cheerful, suddenly looked hesitant. Both of them could see the discomfort on Mrs. Aydin's face, but Joong refused to back down.

"Mom, he's a good guy. Please accept him," Joong pleaded, his voice softer now, filled with hope.

Mrs. Aydin's lips pressed together before she let out a small sigh. Her expression softened, but the hesitation in her eyes remained. "Dunk, what do your parents do?" she asked, her tone measured.

Dunk swallowed hard but answered honestly, "Miss, I don't have parents. They both passed away when I was young. I was raised by my older brother, who is a teacher, and I have a cousin who is a doctor."

A fleeting shadow crossed Mrs. Aydin's face, something unreadable, before she schooled her features into a smile. "Oh, I see. That must have been hard for you," she said, though Joong could sense the underlying discomfort still presentt.

Joong held his breath, waiting for her next words. "And what do you do for a living?" she continued, her tone more neutral now.

"I'm a programmer," Dunk replied confidently, his voice regaining some steadiness.

Mrs. Aydin's face finally showed a genuine smile. "That's good to hear," she said. Then, after a pause, she nodded. "Joong, don't worry. I'm ready to accept you both."

For a moment, Joong couldn't believe what he was hearing. His heart pounded, and he looked at his mother in disbelief. "Mom... are you really saying this?" His voice was barely above a whisper, as if afraid speaking louder would shatter the moment.

Mrs. Aydin chuckled lightly. "Why would I lie about something like this, dear?" she said reassuringly.

Joong's face lit up in pure joy. He turned to Dunk, eyes glistening with happiness, before pulling him into a tight embrace. "Dunk, she accepted us! I can't believe this!" he said, his voice filled with excitement.

Dunk smiled, though slightly flustered. "Joong, you've been repeating that for the past five minutes," he teased, shaking his head in amusement.

"I can't help it!" Joong laughed, looking back at his mother. "Mom, can he stay the night?" he asked, a hopeful gleam in his eyes.

Dunk's eyes widened. "Are you serious?" he whispered, nudging Joong's side.

Mrs. Aydin chuckled at their exchange. "Of course, why not?"

Joong practically jumped in excitement. "Thank you, Mom! You're the best!" He ran over and hugged her tightly.
