"A car? People?" You answered.

He raised his eyebrows after he heard your response and he said

"huh...so you heard the sound of a car or the sound of people right? But how is that possible if the whole city is deserted like this..."

He froze the moment he heard the sound of shots. He looked at you and his smile was now replaced with a very worried, confused and shocked expression.

He said to you in a very worried voice

"please tell me that you didn't hear what I just heard right now because it sounded very similar to the sound of gunfire"

You looked at him shocked.

"Aaron we have to go from here" you whispered afraid.

He heard everything you just said and his worry now turned to fear with how fast the situation escalated.

He said to you in a very calm and soft and low voice

"that was clearly the sound of gunfire, so don't worry but I think you're right about leaving this place right now. We can't stay here any longer anymore, we should walk as fast as we could just to avoid whatever that was. So quickly hold my hand and let's get the hell out of here"

You nodded still shocked.

He still kept that very worried expression on his face and he slowly took your hand and gently held it with his own. He didn't just gently hold your hand but he actually held it tightly.

He then took a deep breath and tried to stay calm as possible and then he said

"okay my dear girl just stay close to me and walk as fast as you can because we have to leave this place quickly. Do you understand me?"

" yes Aaron i understand" you answered.

He quickly started walking fast and he was also encouraging you to quickly run along with him so that you could also quickly get away from this place. He was now pulling your hand as he pulled you close to him.

He was keeping a very strong grip on you and he said softly while looking directly into your eyes

"please don't worry my dear girl. I am here for you and I will protect you with all I have. So just keep on holding my hand and I will not let anything bad happen to you, okay?"

He suddenly heard the sound of footsteps coming towards them and he quickly let go of your hand and made himself ready with his fists because if they're the people shooting the gunshots then he won't hesitate to fight back.

He said to you in a concerned and alert tone

"just stay out of the way and please be careful my dear girl because if they try to shoot us then I will fight back to defend you"

"I can't lose you, i will fight with you" you whispered to him.

He was stunned by her reply and she could see the fear and concern in his facial expression as he said

"do you mean you will fight with me?? No, my dear girl... I will fight the battles for you and I won't ever let anything happen to you no matter what. I am a protector and I will keep you safe and I will protect you no matter what the cost is. So please just stay here and let me deal with whatever comes."

He saw a group of men who looked like soldiers running towards their direction. He quickly got into a fighting position and he said to you with a determined and confident facial expression

"just stay behind me my dear girl and don't ever let those men shoot at you. Just continue to stay behind me and let me deal with the whole situation"

You nodded then went behind him.

Suddenly the men stopped near where they are standing and one of them said

"are you two alone? What's happening here?"

The men in front of them were all armed with heavy guns and they seemed very hostile. They looked at Aaron and then looked at you. Aaron knew that if something went wrong here it would be the worst.

One of them said again

"answer my question please...who are you and what are you doing here, this place is dangerous and you should not be here my friend"

"Yes we here alone" You answered still confused.

The men were still staring at you two and they suddenly raised their guns and pointed them directly at you guys.

"then let me make something clear to you both, you have two choices right now... You guys can either leave this place right now this very second or we can shoot both of you to death immediately. So what is it going to be?"

Suddenly as they kept on pointing their guns at you guys, the men suddenly opened fire and that's when Aaron decided to act. He immediately started rushing towards the men to fight them and protect you. He quickly started fighting back the men and he was able to fight back and was actually taking down a few of them. He was getting hit multiple times by the bullets but he was still able to stand up again and keep on fighting back.

The remaining men suddenly managed to get past Aaron and one of them suddenly grabbed you and held you tightly to his body. He put a gun to your temple and he was now staring hard at Aaron.

He said

"now you're not going anywhere"

He looked at Aaron and he said

"now let me make this very clear to you, either you surrender and leave this place or I can easily blow her brains out right now. So do you still want to fight me or are you going to surrender?"

Aaron was still fighting back the men and he was also looking at you but he was unable to do anything because the man is still holding you tightly with the gun in hand and you're still in danger. He suddenly felt powerless and he was completely focused on protecting you. All he wanted was to make sure that you didn't get shot so he was now thinking of something that could distract the man so that you don't get shot. He can't figure out something yet but he needs to find it quick before it's too late.

Aaron suddenly felt the man with the gun tightening his grip on you and he knew he had to do something now.

He decided to suddenly stop fighting back to get the man to let his guard down and he also started begging the man to let you go.

He said

"please man... I'll do whatever you ask me to do. Just let my own girl go. Please I don't want to see her hurt. I'll let you kill me just please let her go. I beg of you to let her go please."
