AWAKENING a phenomenon where the user is tested through hellish environment to achieve new level.
When everyone else was celebrating their victory in the castles with new powers and weapons. There was someone who was trapped in deep slumber of the darkness in his heart. Continously fighting to not be devoured and lose his humanity. While everyone was happy that Yori got pure form. KAGUYA was in the room with him praying for him to come back..


"You are weak."
"I wish you die."
"Your birth was a curse to this entire family."
"Stay away from my kids, you black blooded monster."
"Even if you are a kid, you can be my enemy. So die"
"You shall suffer your whole life."
"There is no need for memories of love in a vessel of death. I am erasing them."


Every single negative thought was repeatedly coming to his mind.

"Why is this happening to me?" Yori's eyes were red. He was crying the whole time. Every single vein in his eyes was visible. His entire body was in pain by frequent attacks of his past opponents.

He was screaming in pain.

"Crying is a waste of resources. It was your choice to be weak."
"How am I supposed to slaughter those who I looked up to?"
The attacks were starting to be even strong and painful. Due to his regeneration they were healing causing him even more pain.

"Aahhhhhhhh! Mamma, Yuna, Yui, Yuzaki, God save me from here. I can't take it anymore. It's so painful."


"Look who is suffering in pain."
"Arghhhhhhhh"
"Your screams are like melodies to my ears."


"Don't think it will end. This is a dimension where the time doesn't exist. It you were to calculate how long your soul is here then it becomes total of 13 years and 95 days."
"Do you still want peace?"
"Just leave me alone in peace. That's all I am asking for."
"Break out of those chains and walk on these thrones bare footed. I'll leave you alone."
"Arghhhhhhhh"

"You have suffered a lot I guess I'll let you free for the next stage." said with a creepy smile on his face..

The next moment all the chains broke but that very moment all the attacks became faster and stronger.. They were so powerful that his regeneration wasn't able to heal the wounds. All the nightmares of his started coming back. He was in even more pain.


"Your father, Shoya Tsukuyomi a man rumored to be the incarnation of devil. Is a faker who lies. He lets everyone fight and take the credit. All he has is influence and a wife beautiful as hell."

"Your whole family Is of weaklings who act as powerful."


"I-I'll never lose my humanity and my parents are still the strongest in my eyes." said while it was clear he was dying from pain

He went to wash the blood from his face and eyes while bearing all those attacks, it was hard for him to just breathe with those injuries but when he wiped the blood of his eyes. A chill went down through the bottom of his spine with every nerve in his body. He was trembling in fear and every hair in his body was up yet while his body was as cold as ice. He saw the reflection of himself in the water, his eyes were different, they had an emotionless emptiness yet he was able to feel the despair and rage in them. His left eye was completely black with red pupil and his right eye was completely white full of positive yet demonic energy it was glowing with an undefinable light. It was like there was a devil who repented to god and gained a new level of power. Never attained by anyone else.
~This wasn't supposed to happen. There is no way I could be chosen for this.~ he had a horrifying fear in his eyes.
This very moment Yori remembered Kaguya's words.
I am entrusting you with the mastery of darkness because no one else could ever control it's overwhelming power.
Its going to be you.
The presence of positivity.


From the back that shadow attained its true form. It was the third part of Yori's soul. Every step it took was enough to send chills down his spine. Yori was trembling in fear and despair, his body was paralized because of his own presence.
"If you die here, I'll wake up in the real world with every drop of power sealed in your body. Do you still want to continue the trial? Not like there is any way of escaping it except death of one of us. You'll die here, The chosen emperor."
"I always ran away from war because I was afraid to become the thing I was told about in the stories. I was not afraid to be the king but, I was afraid that I'll end up awakening as something I feared. " Tears flowing from his eyes were turning black. His eyes were starting to bleed.
"We'll see"

"Drake, rise from the shadows. I want every bit of knowledge you have about me."
"Your wish is my destiny, master."


The very moment Yori burst out laughing, both Drake and the third part were confused.
"You'll kill me? YOU insect! You are nothing but an weapon at my disposal.

Yori had clearly a new emotion flowing through himself. The urge to destroy the enemy to seize victory. Those beautiful eyes had a look of a bloodthirsty devil waiting for his prey. He took out his greatest weapon he was always hiding even when he was fighting Drake.
The command of elements and natural laws, a power that seems common and weak but has a great effect when the user knows to command them.
He always used them but the pressure coming out of him was in a class of its own. The awakening truly made him seize a new level of mastery on himself.

"Seems like learning every fighting art even if I wasn't awakened was not a waste. "
"It wasn't, You could have beheaded me with this immense awakening in a single attack, master"
"Quit the slave act. You are not my slave."



"NO possible way a boy who grew up using swords could be a mage with commands of elements. This is a mess. I'll prove them wrong by killing you. You bastard." Kaiser charged to Yori with full strength but ended up realising he lost a battle of brute strength. The grand marshal feared for his stats got overwhelmed by his weakest part.


"Bow down to me and accept me as your master. That's the only way you could live."
"I lost. I shall tell you now, You were never meant to be the empreror of shadows. It was a sacred throne for a human. Your soul itself resembles the entities humans categorise as devils. It won't be long since the words that devil descended from hell will be repeated. "
"I don't have any problem with that. I don't think peace is an option if I want to protect my loved ones.
All I ever wanted to just live a life.
I never wanted to be the king."
"All I ever wanted to serve my master, I never wanted to grab a knife."
"We still have one enemy left."



"Drake, bring me its head." His words had the command of an emperor. The eyes of the same weak kid changed into the horrific raging gaze of an emperor like it was nothing.


"Kaiser, I want you to pull off its heart and give me his blood."


"Are you sure you are gonna drink the blood?" Kaiser said while putting his hand on his face in disgust.
"No, But there isn't any other way to escape out of here without killing you except for drinking the demon's heart pumped blood in his skull."Yori said with an expression of confidence.
"I would have vomitted by just thinking of it." Drake said while carrying his head with a smiling face.


The trial was ended with the new awakening of the king. The boy who feared war became the emperor who tasted blood at a young age.


He woke up in Kaguya's room where she was sitting beside him with her hand on his hairs, slowly playing with them.
"Welcome back, my dear emperor" Kaguya said with an expression of joy.
"I was so scared. I was calling for your help." Yori said as his eyes went wet with tears. He hugged her and started crying.
"Sorry for making you go through all that. It must have been rough on you."
"I am strong now." said while his dry eyes were completely wet from tears in a childish voice.
"You have all the memories now. right? About your friends, your closest people and your love."
"I wonder if she even remembers me."
"Now don't change into the emperor of cuteness from the emperor of darkness so quickly." Kaguya said with a smile and her hand on his head.
"I have finally achieved the true form. We will go on a trip, right?"
"Indeed we will. Just the two of us."


Yori's eyes and face was not like before. He had the same look and aura of Kaguya in them. The smile, the way those eyes resembles calmness and kindness of heart. No doubt he was completely like Kaguya. When he was happy for his victory. A new turn was waiting outside in the training ground. A heart-warming reunion of two friends and birth of new enemies. The awakening of emperor was not just as simple as a power-up. It changed the power balance of the world at a otherworldly scale. Drake and Kaiser, with these two, the emperor has already sealed his name on the throne.
A commander feared for his weapon mastery and a marshal feared for his brute strength. Just defeating these two has made Yori enough to catch up to the ranks like nothing.

"Mamma..!!!" Yori said while resting in Kaguya's lap.
"Yes dear.."
"I want a revaluation."
"No need for it dear, Your presence is enough to say you have reached the hidden class of levels... You are the first slayer of this generation to reach the tier-anonymous. " said Kaguya in a calm tone
"I can't believe. I am chosen for it. Now it means I'm your strongest student." said Yori in a cheerful yet cold tone. He wasn't used to those eyes yet.
"I already said even If you remained weak. I'll still love you the same." Kaguya's tone was enough to tell how she was feeling.
"I love you too mamma. " said Yori while smiling differently than he used to. It had the exact feel as Kaguya's cold yet beautiful smile.


Someone entered the romm, It was Shoya...

"What's the mama's boy doin after clearing an S tier fortress all by himself."
said Shoya in a cheerful manner while messing with both Yori and Kaguya's hairs at the same time.
"Don't call my dearest child that. He is mamma's life not boy." said Kaguya, it was clear that Shoya was about to be scolded.
"I wish you luck daddy." said Yori while smiling and laughing

"You will pay for this Shoya, get ready for the punishment." said Kaguya
"Ahhhh! Darling I was just kidding!!" said Shoya while trying to run away
"NO running away love.."
