The day before had been one of the most gruelling shifts you'd ever had. As an editor at a company near your apartment, you were used to a steady workload, but that day was overwhelming. You had documents piled up, countless papers to edit from co-workers, and attended back-to-back meetings. Everyone in the office seemed just as swamped; wherever you walked, you heard the constant clacking of keyboards—a background noise that even your music couldn't drown out.

Everyone in the office was busy, it wasn't just you, everywhere you walked, you heard at least ten people typing on their keyboards. At this point, all you heard was the constant clicks and clacks. Even as you were listening to your music, you were still constantly hearing the clicking sound ringing in the back of your head.

Anyway, you finished all the work you were assigned and went straight back home. Thank god you lived near the company; otherwise, you might have collapsed on the street from exhaustion, but it wasn't your first rodeo from receiving this big workload. The company is usually quiet and slow, with nothing big going on, but of course, there would be times when it becomes hectic, and you just happen to have a shitty work schedule for this month.

Nonetheless, you went home - tired as fuck, but thank god you had a somewhat reliable roommate. You texted him in the morning that you would arrive home later than usual and told him to leave some leftovers out for you when you got home so you didn't have to prepare food or anything.

When you got home, you saw a few plates wrapped up in plastic wrap and a little note saying 'I'm sleepin' so don't even dare to disturb me over smth dumb -Rin'.  At least he left food out like you told him to. You threw the little paper away and heated the plates of food that he left out for you. You ate in silence as you were scrolling on your phone, catching up with some friends and with the latest gossip or whatever.

You finished eating your meal and placed the dirty dishes in the sink, not bothering to do the dishes because you were so drained from work.

" That's a problem for tomorrow.." Quietly muttering, you headed to your bedroom, gathering your pyjamas and essentials. The day's exhaustion weighed heavily upon you as you showered and went through your nightly routine. Collapsing into bed, you surrendered to sleep almost immediately, the weariness from work overtaking you completely. Thoughts of tomorrow's challenges were pushed aside, lost in the oblivion of slumber.

*ring ring*

As you were sleeping peacefully, you felt this constant nudge and this annoying ringing.

"Tu...rn...it offfeuh.." You slurred while trying to hit your snooze button on your phone but failed to do so. So you went back to sleep with the annoying ring of your alarm. A few minutes later, you felt this nudge on your shoulder. You shrugged off whatever was nudging you, but that sensation came back, this time, the nudge was a little bit more aggressive.

You tried to ignore it for a while, but the nudging never stopped. Slurring a sleepy "stop" at whoever was disturbing you, you turned over, hoping to fall back asleep. But as you began to wake up fully, you saw who it was—your roommate, Rin, still nudging you persistently. You were confused; didn't he have early practice? Why was he home at this hour?

Wait a minute...this hour? What time was it?

"SHIT! I'm late for work... Again! " You screamed as you sprung out of bed and bumped into Rin when you got out of your bed because he was just standing next to your bed while he was just nudging you. You quickly realized that you were late for work. Great... You have to explain to your supervisor again why you were late, for the 10th time this month.

"How lukewarm of you, as usual..." Rin said softly, heading out of your room and back to his own to take care of whatever he needed to do.

"Yeah, yeah... thanks for waking me up, Rin... again!" you said, rolling your eyes at his usual "lukewarm" comment before rushing to the bathroom to get ready for work.

Rin came out of his room a moment later and knocked on the door of the shared bathroom. "Are you coming home late again?" he asked through the door. Not catching what he said, you quickly unlocked it, still wrapped in a towel from your shower, to hear him better.

Realizing your attire, Rin looked away, and you, suddenly aware, shut the door, quickly changing into your work clothes.

"Sorry about that," you said, stepping out while towel-drying your hair. "What were you saying?"

"It's alright," he replied, rubbing the back of his neck. "I was asking if you're coming home late again. I have soccer practice tonight, so if you want, I can leave some food out like I did last night."

"Uh, I'm not sure yet," you answered. "I might have to stay late to make up for the time I missed this morning."

Rin nodded, then went to the kitchen to grab a light snack. Meanwhile, you were practically running around the apartment, gathering everything you needed for work. He was used to your morning rush when you were running late and continued his routine quietly, accustomed to your usual commotion.

"Imma go now before I'm even more late, but I'll update you if I'm coming home late!" you yelled from the doorway, struggling to put on your shoes. He nodded, though you couldn't see him, still munching on whatever he was eating. You called out a quick goodbye to Rin, and he returned it. Softly shutting the apartment door behind you, you started running to work.

Author's note:

Hi my fellow (small amount lol) readers! I hope you guys are doing well :3 Sorry for not being active at all on wttpd... I am honestly not as motivated to write pics as I used to. But here is a little something that I've been working on for the past year (procrastination at its finest), a little slice-of-life between y/n and Rin hopefully, I captured his essence bc Rin has a complicated personality that idk how to describe in words, but I tried my best lol.

Anyway, I am feeling a bit more inspired to write more blue lock one-shots, especially with season 2 being out, I'll try and write more cute little fanfic here and there during the airing of the show.

RIP THE ANIMATION x.x
