"Do you think we should have apple juice or wine, love?"

Lou looks at me, a paper mustache pasted under his nose.

"We have real wine?" He asks, genuinely curious.

I laugh, reaching for a juice box.

"Obviously no, my mom says wine is just old grape juice. This one should do." I gave Lou an opened one. "Just pretend you're tipsy after drinking it.

Taking the juice box, Lou pierces the straw in and sips. He laughs as he places it on the table, a small drop of the juice drips on the surface.

He fixes his fake mustache as he makes a drunken expression, which is just making his eyes drowsy and slurring his voice.

"Ouh.. That was some good- *hiccup* wine, honey.." He slurs, before bursting into laughter.

I giggled, taking a sip of my 'wine' too.

"Eh, I have something for-"

The sounds of rattling drive our attention to Katelyn, holding a tray of what was our pretend dinner. She flashes a smile as she sets down the tray and arranges the plates of wooden steak and a bowl of plastic fries. Delicious.

"Your dinner, Mr and Ms Partridge." She cooes, nodding her head.

I take my platter of steak as Lou takes his, acknowledging Katelyn.

"Umm, Kate, what time is it?" I ask, breaking our roleplay.

"Dunno, I think it's nearly tea time." Kate shrugs, picking up the wooden and clears her throat. "Enjoy your meal."

I slice my steak, my plastic knife seperating the velcro. Lou was fake chewing away, an upside-down smile stretching his lips.

"Lou, isn't your mommy and daddy picking you up?" I ask, setting my fork on the plate. "Your parents always pick you up early."

Lou stares at me for a moment, sipping his juice box till it shrivels.

"My mom says someone else will pick me up, she says she's not back until supper." Lou replies." My dad's on a trip to France, work stuff I think."

"Who will pick you up?" Again I ask.

"Dunno, mom said just wait for my name to get called."

I let a small 'oh' escape my mouth as Lou stands up and pushes the chair under the table.

"Ehem, let's go to the Costa, Winston's over  there." Louis snaps back into our pretend play, reapplying his mustache.

He takes my hand and loops around my elbow, making a posh face while at it. I laugh at his pompous acting as we walk across the play zone towards a small rack with a toy coffee machine arranged on it. Winston perks as he smiles at us, wearing a marroon apron that had a paper stuck on it with the brand 'Costa' written.

"Hi Louis, hi Lily- I mean, welcome to Costa, what would you like?" Winston grabs a small red cup from under the table.

"I'll get a hot chocolate, do you have it?" Lou quips, glancing at the coffee machine set.

"And I'll have those really bitter ones." I added, already pulling out a few light green dollars from my pocket.

Winston nods as I drop the money on the counter, watching him crank down a few levers on the machine. He makes a few hissing noises, me and Louis share giggles at it.

All of a sudden, a tall person walks in the play zone with her phone in her hand. She glances all of us, then rereading her phone. Everyone in the play zone stares at her, everyone pausing their playtime.

She kneels down next to our play coffee shop, scanning Winston's, then Louis' before settling on my face.

"Sweetie, your daddy's picking you up, he says you're heading with.. Louis." She states, tucking her phone in her jean pocket.

She turns to Louis. "C'mon let's go!"

Winston waves us off, a coffee cup in his hand.

The tall person guides us to the entrance, Daddy already waiting whilst talking to another tall person.

"Lily!" Daddy exclaims, lowering to one knee with his arms open.

I ran to hug him, Louis left to wave at Daddy.

"So, this is Louis." Daddy says, smiling brightly at him. He stares from bottom to top, pausing at the small Ralph Lauren logo on his shirt. And their gaze meets.

He seems to swallow a bit as a nervous chuckle coughs out. "Your mom sent me to pick you up, hope that's not any trouble."

Louis smiles back, nodding.

"It's okay, Mr. Gold."

Daddy goes in between us and guides us to the car, his hands flat against our backs.

Our drive to Louis' home was fun. Daddy had been asking him questions and laughing with him. We'd also get to catch up on our pretend play, Daddy just letting us.

Louis was always fun when it came to pretend play, he never makes it boring. He treats me like how Mommy and Daddy do when I know they're going on a date night. It's really fun drinking fake wine with him, seeing him faking getting drunk.

Lou pats my leg, pointing us passing under tall, white pillars with golden decorations. Wow, this looked rich.

I admire the fancy, smooth grass on the sidewalks; the bubbling fountain with a little baby angel holding a bow on top and obviously how expensive-looking the houses looked. They looked like they were owned by the literal presidents.

I turn to Louis. "You never told me you were this rich, Lou." I laugh.

"You never asked, besides, it's not important."

We stopped shortly at a house, no, mansion. It was beautiful.

Daddy got us out of the car and opened a small door beside the garage door.

Louis was about to enter when he stopped and jogged back to me. I shot him a confused look. Daddy had headed back to the car, I can hear him calling someone, maybe Louis' parents.

Louis was holding a small, blue cardboard box.

"You know how we pretend play, you're Ms. Partridge?" He says, a smile bright on his face.

I nod, not seeing his point.

"It wouldn't be a marriage without a ring." He says, opening the box.

I gasp as I peek inside. Inside was two, perfectly made rings made of paper; one was blue, the other pink. Louis picks the pink one and gently carresses my hand, before slipping the paper ring on my ring finger.

"It's really beautiful, Louis." I smile, admiring the ring.

He wears his one too, wiggling his fingers with pride.

"We can wear this when we play pretend again." He says, smile glowing.

I smile. And smiled.

"Promise me you'll never lose it, Lillith." Louis laughs. "Pinky promise."

He lifts his pinky to me, wiggling it. I giggle as I wrapped it with mine, linking it tightly.

"Pinky promise."
