Hey everyone!! So, I bet you're wondering why I'm starting a new story instead of continuing my last one, right? Well, the truth is, I've hit a bit of a writer's block with those fics. But hey, I'm determined to break through it eventually. In the meantime, I've got this new idea brewing, and I couldn't resist diving in. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!!!

"BTW, that pic up there? That's pretty much how she looks, but imagine her with green eyes. Just so you get the picture!"

I blinked, the dim light poking through these weird curtains and waking me up. Taking a look around, I noted the rustic vibes and muted colors of this new place. "Well, well, well, isn't this a surprise," I muttered to myself, a sprinkle of sarcasm lacing my words. Another day, another chapter in this book of unwanted surprises. -sigh- Just another spin in my ongoing dance with misery. Here I am, still lost in this maze of unfamiliar faces, people I only recognize because my brain decided to hit me with a memory dump one morning when I woke up in this reality. And what a reality it is - the Twilight universe. -Ugh- Why here? Why Twilight? Couldn't I wake up in a safer TV show or movie universe? You know, one without vampires, werewolves, or any other dangerous creatures lurking about? Why, oh why? I mean, it's been years, but seriously, why Twilight??? -Ugh-
As I was in the middle of fussing with my mid-length straight black hair, which I'd dyed with a splash of purple at the ends, I caught sight of something small and fuzzy in the corner of my eye. It was Zoe-Zo, my trusty pet rabbit, twitching his nose inquisitively from his spot on the bed, his soft black and white fur gleaming in the subdued light. He's a Dutch rabbit, and let me tell you, quite the handsome fella. Seemed like the change in scenery didn't faze him one bit, his whiskers buzzing with curiosity. "Looks like we're still stuck in this crazy, dangerous situation, aren't we?" I quipped to him, a small grin forming on my lips. "But hey, at least we've got each other, buddy." Hmm... I really need to find him a mate though. I'm itching for some baby bunnies. Ahhh... the thought of it is just too cute. Oh, hold on a sec, I've got some pictures!
I grabbed my phone, which is strangely still the model I had in 2024, but hey, I'm not complaining. It's my trusty Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I can't imagine life without it. It's like a lifeline, especially with all the fanfics I've already downloaded onto it. So weird though, everything on it is just the same as it was in 2024 - the apps, the songs, even games that haven't been invented yet are here and playable. And get this, I somehow have WiFi too, which is totally unheard of for the year 2002. I can even connect to the internet, but here's the kicker - I can't chat, message, or connect with anyone, not even in games. Bit of a bummer, but at least I can still get updates for my apps, songs, and games, and even download new ones. Thank goodness for small miracles, right?
Checking my phone, I scrolled through the messages from Uncle Jaxx, his random check-ins serving as a connection to the world I left behind. "Same old, same old," I muttered, firing off a quick reply before tossing the device aside. It's odd how he never seems to pick up on anything unusual, but then again, he's always wrapped up in military stuff. I even called him when I first got here, but he just brushed it off, saying everything's normal. Which is seriously weird. Uncle Jackson "Jaxx" Steele is a US Marine officer, a Colonel, no less. You'd think he'd notice something off, but nope. It's like his memories got blended with the Uncle Jaxx from this reality. Weird, right?
Alright, let me sketch out the family tree for you in this reality. On my paternal side, we have the Chen-Lee's - Grandpa Jianjun and Grandma Meiying, the power couple in the business world in China, real magnates if you ask me. They paved the way for my dad, Junwei, to step into the business world with his relentless drive for success. On my mother's side, we've got the Steele's - Grandpa Jason, a US Marine Captain, and Grandma Olivia, who held down the fort at home while Grandpa was deployed. Unfortunately, they all passed away before I even entered the scene, some of old age in my dad's case, and Grandma Ollie died from the heartache of losing Grandpa who died in duty in my mom's case, leaving behind only memories captured in fading photographs. Now, onto the next generation: Uncle Jaxx, the military man of the family, my mom's big bro and the only blood-related uncle I've got since my dad's an only child. He's following in the footsteps of Grandpa Jason and served in the military like every Steele before him. As for my parents, my lucky mom, Justine, managed to win my dad's heart and tie the knot with him. And guess what? Almost everyone in the family has a name starting with 'J'. Mom jokes that it was planned that way, but who knows? Maybe it's just a happy coincidence turned into a quirky family tradition.
