The day I met Seth, I'd had to leave school early. I was just coming out of the doctor's office and accidentally ran into someone walking by the door. That was the bad part about the strip mall-esque square the office was in - the good part being the other businesses there.

As I looked up to stutter out an apology, my voice died in my throat at the gentle blue eyes and warm smile that met my gaze. Instead of being angry or brushing me off like I was nothing - both extremely common occurences when I'm involved - the man asked if I was okay. I was enveloped in a friendly warmth as I nodded and introduced myself as I'd been taught. He seemed surprised at first, but he returned the favor anyway.

He appeared interested in me, so I felt absolutely horrible about turning down his offer of a quick bite to eat in a public place where we could get to know each other better. I didn't even know how much older he was, but it made me tingle that for the first time in my life someone wanted to know more about the cemetary girl. Little did I know the trap I was walking into.

Hell, I practically skipped into it and slit my own throat on the altar of sacrifice for him.
