As Shubman observed Nandhini and Jaiswal from a distance, a surge of jealousy coursed through him like a raging inferno. The sight of Jaiswal's arm around Nandhini's waist filled him with an inexplicable sense of possessiveness, igniting a fierce fire within him.

His jaw clenched with barely suppressed anger as he watched them navigate the rugged terrain together, their laughter mingling with the rustle of leaves and the gentle whisper of the wind.

Despite his best efforts to suppress his emotions, Shubman couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at his heart.

"Who does he think he is, putting his hands on her like that?" Shubman muttered under his breath, his voice laced with bitterness as he watched Jaiswal support Nandhini's weight. "She's mine, damn it. Mine."

Mara, sensing Shubman's growing agitation, leaned in closer, her voice smooth and seductive as she whispered in his ear. "What's wrong, Shubman?" she murmured, her breath warm against his skin. "You seem... tense."

Shubman's grip tightened on his trekking pole, his knuckles turning white with the force of his anger. "It's nothing," he replied through gritted teeth, his voice strained with frustration. "Just... seeing Nandhini with Jaiswal, it's... it's bothering me."

Mara's lips curved into a knowing smile as she watched Shubman's reaction with amusement. "Ah, I see," she said, her tone teasing. "You're jealous, aren't you?"

Shubman's eyes narrowed at Mara's words, his irritation flaring to life once more. "Jealous? Me? Don't be ridiculous," he retorted, his tone defensive. "I just... don't like seeing her with him, that's all."

But even as he spoke the words, Shubman couldn't deny the truth of Mara's observation. The thought of another man touching Nandhini, of sharing moments with her that should belong to him alone, filled him with a fierce possessiveness that he struggled to contain.

Mara chuckled softly at Shubman's denial, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Whatever you say, Shubman," she replied, her tone tinged with mockery. "But you can't deny the chemistry between them. It's... palpable."

Shubman's jaw clenched at Mara's words, his fists tightening around the handle of his trekking pole. "Enough, Mara," he snapped, his tone sharp with irritation. "I don't want to hear another word about it."

Mara raised an eyebrow at Shubman's outburst, her expression unreadable as she regarded him with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. "As you wish, Shubman," she replied smoothly, her voice tinged with amusement. "But remember, denial won't make the truth disappear."

With that cryptic remark, Mara turned away from Shubman, her attention drifting back to the conversation at hand. But Shubman couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered within him, a nagging doubt that refused to be silenced.

As he watched Nandhini and Jaiswal continue along the path, their laughter echoing through the mountainside, Shubman couldn't help but wonder if there was more to their relationship than met the eye. The thought filled him with a sense of dread, unlike anything he had ever known.
