„Huh, never noticed how beautiful Earth can be..." Venus said, while he was admiring Earth from afar. „Someone's having a crushhh.“ Mercury said. „Say that again and you'll wish that you never said any of that.“ Venus replied to Mercury's tease. „Jeez, and here I was thinking that the Sun had anger issues.“ Mercury said. „Well, you're not wrong. The Sun does have anger issues and can sometimes say some pretty creepy stuff. I'm glad that I'm not that close to him as you are.“ Venus responded. „You think I like being so close to him? He does get pretty annoying sometimes.“ Mercury said. „You know, it's a bit ironic that you said that you never noticed how beautiful Earth can be when you're named after the Roman goddess of beauty.“ Mercury said. „Good one, Mercury! I almost believed you for a second there.“ Venus said. „It wasn't a joke." Mercury said. „Wait, really? How can that be?“ „Don't blame me. After all, the romans decided to name you that. Probably because of your thick atmosphere, which makes it impossible to see your surface. Not to mention some earthlings even mistook you for a star, because of how bright you look as seen from Earth. Especially just before dawn, and just after sunset. Some even thought that you were two different stars.“ Mercury said. „How do you know so much about those earthlings, anyway?“ Venus asked Mercury. „It can get pretty boring around here sometimes. So, sometimes I read about humans who were so fascinated by astronomy that they'd make up stories. Like when one guy invented a theory that there might be life on you, Venus. Something about that microscopical life forms that don't breathe oxygen might live in the layers of your clouds where the temperatures are around 35°C and the atmospheric pressure is similar to Earth's. Not gonna lie, it's a pretty interesting theory.“ said Mercury. „Huh... Life on me... That sounds interesting, actually. Wait... But what about the acid rain? Wouldn't that affect the life forms on me, if there are any? What if it kills the bacteria? Or the algae or whatever it is? Then they won't survive!" Venus exclaimed. „Since when did you care so much about your acidic rain?“ Mercury replied. „Hey, I may be basically like an oven, but even I would be excited if I found out that I have life on me.“ Venus replied. „Really, you didn't seem to care whether or not you are habitable or not until now.“ said Mercury. „You think I don't? Haven't you seen me trying to keep everything stable, but those stupid volcanoes ruined it all.“ Venus said. „Hey, now, don't put the blame on you. It's not your fault. Plus, your surface was young and constantly bombarded by asteroids, which caused all sorts of gases to rise in your atmosphere and heat everything up. Plus, if you want to keep everything stable, why not try to attract a moon. That would make everything more stable and less volatile, you know.“ said Mercury. „Well, I tried, but I couldn't even attract a small asteroid because of my weak gravitational pull.“ said Venus. „You know, even a small asteroid would be enough. You just have to get close to the asteroid belt to start attracting any of them.“ Mercury said. „Well, I would, but you know that the Sun doesn't like it when we get out of our orbits.“ Venus said. „Wow, didn't expect this coming from you, Venus. You're not like that at all.“ said Mercury. „Oh please, if I were farther from the Sun, I could easily get out of my orbit without him even noticing it.“ Venus responded. „Heh, if you're so confident about that, why not give it a shot? I'm sure that the Sun won't notice, as long as you make sure that he doesn't see you going out of your orbit.“ Mercury replied. „Challenge accepted.“ Venus said. Then, he began to slowly drift out of his orbit. „I wonder if there are any- Um, what are you doing here, Venus?“ Earth said. „I- Uhh... That's none of your business!" Venus said, clearly nervous. „Whatever. Right, what was I saying?" Earth said as he continued chatting with his moon. ‹Okay, now all I have to do is get past the orbit of Mars and try to capture an asteroid from the asteroid belt. Easy.› Venus thought while continuing to move towards the asteroid belt. After a while, he finally reached the orbit of Mars. „Oh, hi Venus. What are you doing out here?" asked Mars as soon as he saw Venus. „That's none of your business!“ Venus said with his usual anger in his voice. „Come on, you can tell me! We're friends, right? I promise, I won't tell anyone.“ Mars asked Venus again. „Okay, okay! I'm just looking for an asteroid to capture.“ Venus said truthfully. „Why is that?“ Mars questioned. „I heard that if I have a moon orbiting me, that could help me be more suitable for life.“ Venus said. „I thought you didn't care that you're habitable or not. Since when do you care so much about that, anyways?“ Mars asked Venus in an intrigued tone. „Well, me and Mercury talked with each other, and, as one thing turned into another, he said that it may be possible for me to have microbial life forms in my clouds and that a moon would help me become more habitable. If that's true, then why not try to capture an asteroid. However, that can be a bit hard since I have a weak gravitational pull.“ Venus explained. „Interesting. Well, if you want to, I could help you capture an asteroid. However, since your gravitational pull is kind of weak, I think that it would be best to go for a small asteroid. That way, it wouldn't be hard for you to hold onto it.“ Mars said. „Thank you.“ Venus replied. „'Thank you'? What's gotten into you? Are you sick or something? You sound weird.“ Mars joked. „Well, it's better than me insulting you, isn't it?“ „Well, yes, it is, but you know, it's just that you're always angry about something, and have a short temper, so I wouldn't expect something like this from you.“ he finished.
