Jiang Simiao paused for a moment when he saw the words 'Fifth Star Field' on the business card, then quickly replied, "Research institute, are you here for bulk material procurement or long-term cooperation?"

Shi Qingning hesitated for a moment after handing over the business card, seeming not to have caught on to Jiang Simiao's words.

Shi Qingning turned around, making eye contact with Qiu Lao.

Qiu Lao smiled at Jiang Simiao, "Sorry to interrupt, I happened to have something to discuss and came over. Are the others resting?"

"No." Jiang Simiao glanced at Shi Qingning beside him and said to Qiu Lao, "Isn't it the break period now? Xingtang took the kids out for a trip, they're not at the base. Mr. Qiu, do you know this gentleman?"

Shi Qingning hesitated for a moment when he heard that people weren't at the base, looking at Jiang Simiao as if intending to ask more.

But Qiu Lao behind him seemed to understand his intention and spoke first.

"Xiao Jiang, can you find us a quiet place?" Qiu Lao looked at Shi Qingning, "I have something to discuss with this researcher, preferably somewhere quieter."

Jiang Simiao glanced back and forth between the two, "No problem, let's go to the meeting room."

This was Qiu Lao's first visit to the KID new base since its completion. He chatted and laughed with Jiang Simiao all the way, discussing the base's planning.

Shi Qingning followed behind them. He didn't join in the conversation, his gaze constantly scanning various areas of the base, seemingly assessing something. It was as if he was examining something very carefully through the base, and he didn't come to himself until they reached the door of the meeting room.

"This place is indeed much bigger than before," Qiu Lao said, "If you need to introduce any new equipment, you can contact me. We have quite a few useful pieces of equipment on the border that we can transfer to you."

"That would be great, Xingtang has been mentioning this recently." Jiang Simiao glanced with interest at the person behind him, "I'll have our boss contact you later."

Qiu Lao patted Jiang Simiao's shoulder, "No problem, you go ahead and busy yourself."

Shi Qingning took a seat, "I handed you the invitation."
