Neteyam's POV:
"Are we there yet, Nojalí? (Mom in Na'vi)
"No, baby. We're almost here.. I promise.." Mom said, caressing Tuk's cheek while she stayed focused on the sky ahead of her.
"Mami, look! Is that the island we're staying at?" Kiri asked, pointed at a greatly sized island. Dad gasped.
"It is! Everyone, hold onto your ikran's mantle, let's go down." I sighed. I don't understand how my family can just be so energetic when we have been flying for a full week, escaping the sky people. The only reason we had left the forest was because the sky people raided us again. They never seemed to lend us a break. This time, they disguised themselves as something my dad calls avatars. They called us "freaks," and, "exotics" and other things, though they copied our appearances. I hated them. I wanted to get rid of every single one of them, brutally. What a pity, the golden child having envy in someone for once. Guess his parents broke him. Wonder how disappointed they'll be over this one..
We landed, and I immediately looked a Lo'ak, and we gave eachother confused looks. These na'vi's, they looked so different. Their hair was a lot curlier than ours, their skin was real, their tails with thick and wide, and countless other details.
When we got off the ikran, my dad did put his hands up, so i mimicked him. All of the na'vi here looked at us so weirdly.
We had been standing there for a while when finally some people who looked like they were in charge came out. It was these two light teal boys with curly hair— like everybody else, and they were walkign slowly , examining us. They laughed at us and mocked our appearances, since we looked different.
"What is that supposed to be? Is that a tail?" I turned around, taking a glance at them. The first one appeared to be younger, and the second one seemed older. He had his hair tied tightly in a bun, and he was more tall and muscular than the other. I look at the talk one in his eyes. He seems startled."How will they swim?" they continue, laughing with eachother. I roll my eyes.
"Lo'a-" I begun, but Lo'ak was looking somewhere else. Ah, he's looking at the pretty girl. I wonder who she is, everybody around her is backing up. And now that i notice, The tall boy looks like if he's familiar with her.
"Aonung! Stop!"
Ah, so that's his name. Aonung. Loak looks actually mesmerized, but i'm honestly looking at the boy. He has a nice appearance— big biceps, and a nice voice.
"Hey.." My skwang brother mutters to the girl. I can already tell they'll either date or become really close friends who have a crush on eachother by the fact that the girl immediately blushed and giggles, as she greets him back. Finally I see some adults here.. A woman and a man come in, riding on some animal that is honestly intimidating and growls at me when i look at it too long. The mother looks pregnant— but who am i to assume. She most likely is, since she rubs her stomach when she comes off of the animal. The male comes closer to us.
"Toruk Mak.." I honestly could care less about the situation. All i know is that we are here because we need to get away from those humans for a while. But meanwhile they talk, I just look at "Aonung." He looks so concentrated on them, or maybe he just doesn't want to get in trouble by his dad. I snap out of my conscious when the woman comes up to us, slapping ur around and grabbing onto our animals like if we were some feral animals. I wasn't paying attention but it was obvious she insulted us, or maybe all of us— and everybody gasped. Was it because we were mixed blood, or simply because we were a different na'vi? By the look of it, it's probably because of my siblings 5 fingers.Lost in my thoughts again, i see her approaching me. She snatches my hand just like how to she did to Kiri.
"Ah.. You are not a demon like them. Are you of their child? Or simply adopted?" I exhale loudly. Did she really just call them freaks? But i'm not gonna fight back— i'm too smart. Loak was dumb enough to growl at her, like if that will give her such a great first impression.
"No, Tsahik.. I simply inherited more of my moms traits," I say looking down. I don't even understand what's the point of keeping this conversation going. What's the problem with being half blooded. What— do they think we're gonna just betray them, do they really think a man who fought in a war, risking his life, would just give it up again because it was all his stupid game? It's just a finger, what do they want— for us to chop it off?I don't know why i've been looking attention to their conversation, maybe it's because of my tiredness, but next thing i know, the younger girl is coming us, greeting us and signaling us to follow her to our maruis. I see.. We are allowed to stay. I look over to "Aonung" as he rolls his eyes.
"Come on bro, let's go." Loak pulls my arm. I just want to come home, Id much rather be there than here. As i follow my brother, I can see some girls in the sides, kinda cornering us? They give me a wave with some eyes— I don't know, it's just this thing girls do. Like, when they just give you this look. I always ask Lo'ak about it but he never understands, yet when i ask dad he understands. He says it's the "ladies way of showing she thinks you're handsome."
"Hey guys! Welcome to our tribe. Let's introduce ourselves, yeah?" The girl says when we finally arrive to the maruis.
"I'm Tsireya, and this is Aonung." Ah, like I didn't know that. Plus, i'm probably gonna remember her name since Lo'ak is repeatedly muttering it.. "Tsireya.. Tsireya.. Tsireyaa.."
"Well, I'm Neteyam, this is my baby brother Lo'ak, this is my little sister Kiri, and this is my baby sister, Tuk," I introduce us, smiling at Tsireya, yet looking right in Aonung's eyes.
"Making yourself comfy!" she says, walking away, but she turns around, as if she forgot something.
"Oh, and.. remember you have training tomorrow morning!" "Aonung" rolls his eyes. This is gonna be fun.
