"This must be what the rainbow tastes like." Jenna stares in glazy-eyed awe at the packet of Skittles in her hand, her tongue bursting with what feels like a million fruity flavors. Have they always tasted this damn good?

Y/n's fluttery laugh quickly steals Jenna's attention, "Yeah, that's like, the whole premise of their commercials, silly." Y/n grins, her use of the word "silly" making Jenna giggle. Everything she felt right now was so heightened, she felt so warm and loose. Like a cooked noodle.

"You're so right!" Jenna exclaims in an excited whisper, her eyes wide and gleaming as if Y/n just told her all the secrets of the universe. Y/n laughs again, the symphony of her joy sounding extra sweet right now.

"I'm stuck on these Cheez-Its. Did they make them cheesier?" Y/n averts her hooded lids to the cheesy snack in her hand, inspecting them in a way that made Jenna giggle again. Everything was so damn amusing right now. This is exactly what she needed. What they needed.

"I actually think that's what their commercials are about, too." Jenna responds with a teasing smile, prompting Y/n's jaw to drop in an open-mouthed smile.

"Wait... you're so right." Y/n chuckles, her voice laced with childlike wonder. They erupt into yet another giggle fit before they stop abruptly, listening closely to a plane flying overhead.

"Do you think it hurts the clouds when a plane goes through them?" Y/n asks, her face conveying deep thought. Jenna cackles at the ridiculous yet endearing question, feeling happy to humor Y/n.

"I don't think they can feel the plane."

"What if they can, though? And we're just impaling them over and over again. It makes me kinda sad." Y/n pouts, her shiny eyes meeting Jenna's in a way that made her heart swell, followed by another laugh. Of course Y/n is thinking of planes' feelings while she's high.

"Well if we're hurting the clouds, then they cry about it. Which means we get rain, and they feel better. It's a win-win. So don't be sad, baby." Jenna ressures through spurted laughter, taking Y/n's free hand in a gentle grasp. The contact was extra soft, extra electrifying.

Y/n blushes with a downward smile, giving Jenna's hand a squeeze as she speaks softly. "I really, really, really like when you call me that." Jenna giggles bashfully, a blush gracing her cheeks that matched Y/n's.

"Me too. It's like music to my ears." Jenna responds tenderly, placing a smiling kiss on the back of Y/n's hand. They share a brief moment of intimate silence before Jenna's eyes sparkle with excited curiosity.

"Speaking of music, do you have a favorite concert you've been to?" Jenna shifts her body that seems to be melting on the couch, leaning toward Y/n in a gesture of her interest.

"Oh, great question. Um...." Y/n brings her finger to her chin, her Cheez-Its now long forgotten, "Oh! I saw Hozier a couple years ago. Went all by myself, got a little wine drunk, cried and sang my heart out. Easily my favorite live show." Y/n smiles proudly, the memory of her solo concert flashing through her eyes with the cutest glimmer that Jenna's seen to date.

Jenna smiles warmly, releasing a dreamy sigh, "That sounds very much like you. I can picture it." The image of a wine-drunk Y/n singing and crying her little heart out to Hozier was something Jenna didn't know she needed, until now.
