Victoria was silently standing next to her car and she was watching silently, when the gate was opening. Connor slowly walked out of the gates and now rather, it was clearly like he couldn't believe that he was free to go.
"Hey." Victoria murmured and he smiled slightly at her, before he was getting into the passenger seat. Victoria got into the driver's seat and she was driving off. "Hey you two, say hi." Victoria said and the twins were in the backseat as Connor was swiftly turning around at the words.
"Daddy!" The two five year olds were hugging him tightly. Tyla and Tommy, those were their names and she was smiling softly at the sight of it in the rearview mirror.
"Oh, I really missed you guys." Connor whispered and the twins were hugging him tightly and then from behind them on the road, someone was honking loudly. "Tori?"
"It's Garrett." Victoria murmured softly as she was looking over at the kids, who were getting down and curling up in the backseat as she sighed, pulling over the car. Victoria rolled down the window as she looked over at Garrett, lifting her eyebrows. "What do you want?" She asked immediately.
"I wondered if you were going to show up." Garrett admitted and she crossed her arms over her chest. "Look, I owe you. So, if there is anything that you need from me, I'm here." Garrett was directing it over to Connor, who was turning to look at him.
"You know, what would help?" Connor asked and Garrett lifted his eyebrows. "If I never had to see your fucking face again." At the words, Garrett almost looked upset.
"Victoria? How is your team doing?" He asked and then Victoria stared at him for a second or two, before she rolled up the window and flipped him off.
Garrett drove off and Victoria nodded slightly, before she exhaled softly at the sight of the dust following the car, that was disappearing into the distance.
"You two can get up now." Victoria murmured softly now as the twins looked scared, before they were sitting up and the twins were shivering.
"W-was that Uncle Garrett?" Tommy asked hesitantly and Victoria was nodding at the words, before she was reaching back and she was holding out her hand to them.
Each of the twins were swiftly and gently reaching out to grab two of her fingers each and she sighed. "As long as he doesn't know about you two, you're both going to be safe with us." Victoria murmured.
Tyla was looking at Tommy, who nodded slightly and the twins, both of them were disappearing into water and they were gone in a swift moment.
"Are they both Hydros?" Connor asked as Victoria continued to drive, not really even knowing where they were going.
"No. Tommy is a Hydro like me, but Tyla is an Electric like you." Victoria admitted and Connor looked at her, before he reached out and grabbed her hand in his. "A Hydro and an Electric have two kids and they turn out to be one of each... It sounds like the beginning of a terrible joke." She said softly and he was looking at her.
"Are you coming back with me to the old place?" Victoria asked and Connor looked at her, before he sighed and shook his head.
"I can't go back there." Connor said and Victoria nodded slightly. "I'm sorry, Tori." He said and she was shaking her head.
"No, I uh... I get it." Victoria said and then she was looking over her shoulder and into the backseat. "There are three bags and a briefcase in this car. The briefcase has 50,000 in it, and should be enough to at least get you somewhere." Victoria admitted and Connor was looking at her.
"You're mad at me." Connor said and she shook her head at him, before she was turning back around in her seat.
"I'm not mad, Connor." She murmured quietly and she was looking at the road ahead of them. "I guess that I just thought that you would maybe, want to meet the rest of the newer team." Victoria said and she pushed her seat back. "Good luck." She said.
"Wait Victoria, hold on..." But Connor saw that it was too late as she was disappearing and leaving only water behind. "Fuck!" He said, slamming his hand into the dashboard and the car suddenly went dead, from the accidental electric surge that he had been the cause of.
Meanwhile, Victoria was standing up in front of the house and she was looking at the house that had once been Tommy Jones's house, before he had left it to her.
"Tori!" Victoria was turning around to see that the rest of the team were all walking to her.
Griff Jones, the tracker with a smart-aleck attitude. Tall, lean and strong, just like his brother had been. At twenty years old, he was unbelievably tough and she smiled at the sight of him.
"Hey, where the fuck is Connor?" He asked and she was looking at him, before he sighed. "He didn't want to come back here, did he?" Victoria slowly shook her head and he sighed. "Well, that is all completely his loss. Come on, we have some new people!" Griff called out and at his enthusiasm, she chuckled quietly before she was following him into the big house.
"All right, who do we have here?" Victoria asked and she was swiftly walking into the basement of the house, where she knew all of the new arrivals would be waiting for her.
"Heather James. She is an Aero, she was nearly caught by the police after she was stuck in the middle of a crossfire shoot-out." Griff explained and Heather was sitting in the corner, entertaining the twins that had shown up in the middle of the area silently.
"Linden, he's a Class-Five Brawn and he might be completely indestructible." Griff stated and then she was looking over at him, before she was nodding. "He is right over there." The big Brawn was quickly spotted in the corner and Victoria nodded. "He got Heather and a couple of other people out of the area, he took all of the bullets in the chest for all the others." He explained and she was nodding.
"Did you ask him?" Victoria asked and quickly, Griff's eyes flashed at the words before he lowered his head. "We need someone who can replace Jordan and Donnie, all right? Especially, since they have a kid of their own now." She admitted.
"I'm sorry, okay? It just isn't as easy to ask for me, as it is for you." Griff pointed out and she sighed, before she was nodding in understanding.
"I get it. Now do me a favor?" She asked as Griff lifted his eyebrows. "Go get the kids to training while I go and work on, doing some recruitment." Victoria stated.
Griff was calling all of the kids over to him as Victoria was left alone with Heather and Linden, who were uncertainly looking at her. "Do I look scary or something?" She asked and Linden was lifting his eyebrows at her. "Okay, tough crowd." Victoria noted.
"Why did your people rescue us and those kids?" Heather asked and Victoria nodded slightly.
"Walk with me." Victoria offered as she pushed off of the wall and they were both following her.
