(AU where //spoilers// Tom doesn't kill Dickie //end spoilers// and the two live happily ever after because I'm still sad about Dickies death-)
Tom and Dickie sat on their little boat, Tom in deep thought. He'd been debating telling Dickie he liked him for a while, he could just never find a good time considering Dickie was either locked in his studio for hours on end painting or out with Marge. Tom let out a soft sigh. "Dickie?" He asked, looking up at the guy in front of him. Dickie looked up at Tom. "Yes?" He asked. Tom let out another sigh. "I've...been trying to find a good time and way to tell you this...um..." Tom trails off, his voice shaky. Dickie's piercing yet beautiful gray eyes stare into Tom's bright blues. Tom takes a deep breath and just decides to go for it. He grabs Dickie by the shirt and kisses him, somehow managing to knock both of them off the little boat in the process. "W-what?" Dickie manages to spit out through coughs and gasps. Tom blushes a little, his eyes going straight to Dickie's now see through shirt. Dickie immediately noticed Tom's stare and uncomfortably looked away. "Why did you do that?" Dickie asked after an uncomfortable silence. "I-I like you." Tom said. "I thought you liked me too?" He added. Dickie's gray eyes softened a little as he looked back at Tom. "Tom...I am so sorry. I never realized you liked me." He said. "But-" Tom began, only to get interrupted by Dickie. "I'm not finished. As I was saying, I thought you were just being...creepy and obsessive. I never realized you had feelings for me." Dickie continued. Tom softly sighed. "And I never intended it to come off that way." Tom replied. Dickie then began to laugh. "What?" Tom questioned with a curious, and cute, tilt of his head. "S-sorry I just...thought of something funny." Dickie laughed, smiling. A genuine smile. "What was it?" Tom asked, now starting to laugh a little too, but also blushing at seeing Dickie smile for the first time. "Remember when...when you tried on my clothes?" Dickie said through laughs. Tom's face burned bright red. He'd forgotten all about that embarrassing moment, but clearly Dickie hadn't. And probably never will. "I-I do...why?" Tom asked. "You probably tried on my clothes so you could smell my scent, right? Cause you're so in love? And maybe because you missed me?" Dickie asked, which caused Tom's face to turn even more red. "I um...sure." Tom just agreed. Dickie smiled again. "You're adorable." He said, smiling. "I love you Tom." He added. Tom blushed even more. "I love you too Dickie."
