"Mom trust me Dominique and I will be fine," I replied to my mother's worried concerned as I pulled her into a convincing hug.
"I'm just worried about you two girls going off to Florida alone," My mother slightly frowned and wrinkles formed on her normally smooth forehead.
My dad jumped into the conversation " Karen we're at the airport now and already said yes. I think it's a little late to change our minds now. Plus, your sister Susan will be checking on them. It's their spring break. Let them go to playlist live and universal."
" I guess you're right Dan. But, they only reason we decided to let them go was because they were paying for the whole thing. Now I'm not so sure."
" Mom we'll be fine. Dominique's parents have apprehensions about it too. But , we are two capable and responsible 16 and 17 year olds. If it makes you feel better I'll face time you every night before bed."
"Alright we'll you guys better head through security. I'll miss you guys. See you in a week." My mom pulled me into one last hug and a tear dropped on my Ed Sheeran tour shirt.
" Bye guys!" Dominque and I said in unison
Dominique and I finally made it through security. It only took about 30 minutes which I thought was relativly fast. We made it to our gate, found seats and waited. I unlocked my white iphone 4s and plugged my black and pink skull candy headphones in. Scrolling through the music on the cloud I decided to listen to a cheeky bit of Ed Sheeran. I soon drifted off and started thinking about how this whole Playlist thing came about....
"Holy crap," I said turning to Dominique in another one of Mr. Slate's (a/n sassy slate *insider*) history lesson. Honestly I didn't really need to pay attention in that class.
"What's up?" She quizzically asked shifting her body to see me.
"Connor just tweeted details about Playlist."
" That's cool I guess."
" It's during our spring break!"
"What no, it's never that late, holy shit."
"You and I have to go!"
"Good luck convincing your parents of that."
" I have my ways. Plus you and I have jobs ergo we have money. All we really need is permission."
I awoke to Nikki (a/n dominque's nickname) shaking me awake.
"Devon our flight is boarding." I hopped up and headed towards the plane. We showed the man our tickets and passports. Walking through the terminal we got on the plane. We were greeted by a stewardess named Melissa. Kindly , she showed us where our seats would be. I let Nikki take the window seat as I get motion sick easily and being next to the window would make it worse. Flipping through the channels, I stopped when seeing Criminal Minds was on. Out of nowhere a flight attendant came over the speakers and announced we would be taking off. In an instant the seat belt on sign became illuminated.
The plane was making its way down the runway. After 5 minutes the plane's front nose lifted up into the air. The wheels folded into the bottom. Getting up with the clouds was bumpy. There was turbulence on the way up but what do you expect. Looking past Nikki out the window I noticed the fluffy white clouds. Unfortunately even that quick little glance made my nauseous. Closing my eyes, I prayed that sleep would take it away .
I stretched my arms over my head like a cat. Finally in sunny Florida. The plane hit the runway. I wonder what will be in store at playlist and universal studios. Nikki and I went and found my Aunt. Susan outside our gate. She drove us to our hotel, Loews Royal Pacific. Checking, in I thought I saw someone familiar all I could focus on was his amazing piercing green eyes. But he left before I could figure out who he was. Our room was amazing. It had two twin beds. The bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub. Looking out our balcony, there was a perfect view of all the palm trees. This was going to be an amazing week. Since, it was late we decided to go to sleep. I wonder what tomorrow would have in store and if I would figure out who that guy was.
