Superman (Clark Kent) & Jonathan Kent
Smallville/DCU
Time Travel

He stood slowly rubbing his head. He didn't remember sonic weapons packing that big of a punch. He used the counter top to steady his swimming vision. When he's senses returned he froze. Had he, in his state of delirium, flew back to the farm? He would remember flying half way around the world... right?

He looked around and noticed that the things somehow seemed newer. There was as much rust on the pots and several plates he thought long distorted were in the sink. Yet the new smooth maker Ma, was obsessed with, was gone.

He pulled out his transponder for the JL but there was no signal.

"Great time travel," he grumbled.

He mashed the small button on the transponder's side. Now he had to do was wait. It should be more than ten minutes. He couldn't help but snoop through the pile of mail on the counter that his Mom had always kept. It was for important things that she could handle in the moment but still needed to be on her mind.

"Bills and taxes, like always," he mumbled flipping through the envelopes.

Someone unlocked the front door and walked towards him. He looked through the wall separating the Kitchen and Living Room and stopped himself from calling out. It was a man and a child. He froze again. His mind wasn't moving at the super human speed at the moment. The opposite he was seeing it unfold in slow motion and he couldn't stop it. All he could think was Dad.

Before he could move Jonathan Kent walked in the room and dropped his bag of groceries. Clark knew his father was staring at the House of El Logo on his shirt.

"Clark, stop," his father said. "I need you run to the barn and hide."

"Bu-" his younger self was cut off.

"Clark Kent, now," his dad used a tone he rarely used, and his younger self bolted. Once the boy had left the house his dad stepped into the kitchen and said, "What do you want?"

"Would it be offensive if I said, be not afraid?" Clark laughed.

"You speak English?" his dad blinked. "And read the Bible?"

"I speak every language on earth and have read most religions doctrines," Clark clarified.

"Good then you'll understand that Clark is my son and you will not lay hand on him. I don't care what your cable of," Jonathan growled.

"While I do admire your loyalty Mr. Kent," it felt weird to call his father that, "that is not why I am here."

"Oh?" Jonathan straightened.

"Actually I am here on accident. It's only a matter of time before my team finds me. But I assure you I won't bother you or you're son," Clark nodded, turning to leave.

"What does that mean?" Jonathan demand.

"Nothing to concern yourself with. I promise I won't interfere," he turned to leave.

"Wait," his father said. Clark hesitated. "Can you tell me anything about Clark or why he or you for that matter are here?"

"You want to know his story?" Clark hummed. Jonathan didn't say anything, hoping he would continue. "We are from a planet that was known as Krypton."

"Was known?" Jonathan repeated.

"Krypton died as your son escaped. He is one of the last of his kind," Clark said.

"You are from this Krypton too?" Jonathan asked. Clark nodded. "Then why wouldn't you be interested in him?"

"It is a long story but I think I have already said too much. You both, in time, will discover his history," Clark said.

"What is that?" His dad drew an S on his own chest. Clark knew Batman would be cussing him out right about now but he just smiled and answered his father's question.

"It stands for the House of El. A symbol of hope on Krypton. Jor-El was Kal's birth father."

"Kal? I like that." His father hummed then his eyes widen. "Wait The House? Like a family crest?"

Clark nodded. His transponder beeped and he looked at the small pocket size device. He was going home or back to his time soon.

"What's your name?" His father pushed, pulling his attention away.

"I have lots of names but I perfer the one my human parents gave me," he grinned.

"Which is?" His dad leaned in.

"Clark," Clark smiled.

"Clark?" Jonathan asked then looked out to the barn and back at him. He crossed the kitchen so the were standing a centimeter apart. "Son? How are you here?"

"There's a lot of things I wish I could tell you but I don't have time. Just know that I only became the man I am because of you," Clark smiled, hugging his father. He pulled away when the device beeped again. "Thats my ride. Thank you for everything."

"I'm proud of you son," he smiled.

There was a bright light he was back in JL's headquarters.
